Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
One thing I hate in games is when you can't go back and collect some secret because you missed it first time around or whatever

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
My PS3 is basically a netflix machine now.
The only games I do play on occasion is some indie games that throw in some cool mechanic and somehow catch my interest, the latest being Rogue Legacy. Big budget AAA titles are pretty much dead to me. I lost complete interest in them (except gta5) |

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
play with a friend
like your friend is physically there. If it's a one player game I try to convince my gf to play with me and I control the left side of the controller and her the right. Really fun, not too serious. Also, I thought the new tomb raider was great. It was pretty fxcking engaging, and I don't really care too much for it "feeling" like the old tomb raiders.

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
i just came out of a non-gaming slump. my perspective has changed a little, and now i don't feel a pressing need to experience a game in the way i used to. i don't need to find every single secret unless the game is so much fun that i actually want to. i don't need to pick apart every single mechanic unless the exact same reason holds. i don't even feel the need to finish a game anymore. gaming is much more relaxed for me and doesn't feel stressful, as it had become. this kinda leads to me not having a "backlog" of games anymore, since i just don't care.
in summary, i stopped worrying about gaming and just began to enjoy it for what it is. Last edited by Emanresu13; 07-16-2013 at 03:35 PM.. |

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
qft. 95% of AAA and fat wallet titles just aren't any fun whatsoever to me anymore because they are too casualized, so i ended up losing some interest in gaming as well since that severely restricts what i can enjoy.

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
I'm enjoying Fez so far though :O
But yeah I agree with the others -- the AAA titles just do nothing for me. |

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
something i should have added:
it's still pretty hard for me to get excited about games. i'm basically just going through the motions right now. but they're somewhat enjoyable motions, as opposed to the mind-numbing crap-garbage motions that they'd felt like for the past half-year or so. and i agree, the AAA titles are kinda meh 90% of the time. i mostly prefer indie stuff like antichamber. Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
Yeah, my PS3 is also pretty much only used for Netflix and such.

I kinda miss the Kong days, though. But I just couldn't keep up with badgehunting anymore when they kept pumping out those goddamned MMO badges. Everything else was a lot of fun, most of the time. Last edited by Reincarnate; 07-16-2013 at 05:41 PM.. |

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
Re beat doom 2 on ultra violence man, that should satisfy you for a week or two. Especially if you save at the beginning of each level and aim to beat each level in a solid run as it was intended. After that, you're back where I'm at, starving for a game worth playing again. I'm basically waiting for kingdom hearts 3 lol.

I even feel the same way when I re-play SNES/N64/PS games (Zelda, MMX, DKC, CT, SM/SMRPG, FF, etc). |

Re: No longer interested in gaming :(
I feel you completely. The answer is pretty much no. I have found temporary solace in mini games like the impossible game or geometry wars 2. Other than that there's no remedy. The golden days of video games are over, and as nerdy as it may be, that's a huge part of my identity. You can call it my sort of mid life crisis where I'm trying to figure out how else to be satisfied with my time without turning to alcohol. It's a harsh lesson about growing up for me. Not that ill ever be "too mature" for video games, there's just a legitimate lacking in the fun innovative styles of games people you and I yearn for. Sucks majorly I know.

I've been trying to beat all my time trial records for MKDS - don't know if that's your thing but it's kept me entertained.

Heard of The Swapper?
Tried Touhou fan-based games? How about old games that you simply haven't played at all? |
