Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
I went to turn my volume down on the R3 engine and it saved my replay about 70 times, which I had to delete individually. That was annoying.

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
Oh yeah, I don't know if anyone knows this. Me and kjwkjw did a little test to see if we could convert and play a song longer than 8 minutes with R^3 on an alternate engine since TGWP (Full Edition) works under the engine if you used the new timing windows.
Turns out, whatever Arc and or Velo did, frame limits are a thing of the past. We tested an 11 minute song using the new timing window and it didn't end abruptly at the 8 minute mark. You know what that means? Yeah, that's right. No need to splice up songs in two parts anymore or speeding it up so it can fit on alternate engines! Likewise, I'm pretty sure that means FFR can have files that long with no problem... unless you don't use R^3 and the new timing window of course, dohoho. |

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
Yep, songs over 8:53 should work like a charm if you're using R^3, even on alternate engines (I should've figured from the fact that I could still play 4-minute songs at 90fps, haha).
Also, arc, would it be possible to have a little confirmation message ("are you sure?") upon clicking the reset button in the options menu? I might not be the only one who's accidentally pressed it instead of "Editor" or "Close" before. D:

Is it really that hard to change your options to how you want them again? I don't see this as worth much, and I've never accidentally clicked it.
Anyway, I think it'd be nice if it had a note by the options that make your scores not get recorded saying so. Some options I've neglected to use since I didn't think they'd be allowed, and I find it hard to tell which ones are.

Keybinds, Speedmod, Amazing off, Offsets, Receptor Spacing, Show PA, Don't show Life, Note Skin, MP PA Off. It takes a while, atleast for me.
I'd love a confirmation box especially if it's easy to implement.

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
It would be. I've made things like that in other programs, so unless flash makes it way harder, (which it seems like Flash specializes in little popupy things like that) it would be pretty easy. It's just an inconvenience for those that only click on reset when they actually want to, which is usually the case, so what's worse, a whole bunch of small amounts of time, or a few large amounts of time?

having some kind of settings profiles would be neat. you could have your settings for recorded scores using none of the mods that prevent scores from being recorded as one profile.. and then having your settings that prevent scores from being recorded saved to another profile. although not sure how many people would use a feature like that.

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
I reset mine back when I just barely changed them originally since I didn't change them very well. If you're dumb enough to let someone else use your account the reset might be a lifesaver, but I've never had to deal with this. I don't think it happens much.

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
this has happened to me now on I hate the 80s, and on HA. at a random part in the song, it's like it speeds up hugely, and then goes back to normal. almost like a huge lag spike. only happened once on each song. only thing i've changed today is speedmod to 2.5, and judge offset to 0.26
has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
I think I've got an idea. Things could be arranged like this:
Mods that still allow your score to be saved___________| Mods that don't allow your score to be saved [insert all such mods here]_________________________|[insert all such mods here] [Save these mods][Load these mods][Reset these mods]|[Save these mods][Load these mods][Reset these mods] This way, it's okay if you accidentally reset since if you saved the ones you liked, you could just reload them. And this allows for easy use of the ones that don't let you save scores since you can turn all of your preferred ones of them on and off, each with just a single press of a button. And it's pretty intuitive and wouldn't be that hard for users to understand. Also, Popsickle, that happened to me at the end of Rondo v2 around 7 years ago, but I haven't seen it lately.

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 6/23/13]
Would it be hard to implement a feature that would allow you to play local stepmania files? I'm not sure how the engine would handle this.. afaik, SM files are converted to flash files in order to be played on all of the ffr engines, although, if possible, It would be a pretty neat feature.

Uh, no engines load up their playlists when i try to select any engine's xml.
Any idea what the deal is with this? Edit - Nevermind, it's like why my whole engine got erased lol. Zymic (zxq.net) are having problems apparently. Damn. Last edited by Tarrik; 07-3-2013 at 04:47 AM.. |

Strange. Does the game freeze/lag or something before this happens? It could potentially happen if the game fell behind the audio and suddenly needed to catch up. It could also happen if you keep the game open for just under a month >.>
