Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
yeah. for at least a while so i can win enough to gamble some more.
I regret giving away 200k before I quit last year. I love that gambling hall.

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
lol its really not THAT hard to earn credits. And the gambling hall makes it that much easier. I got 40k credits from Kayla's Tourny and I've turned it into 310k from gambling. Yes on occasions it would be really cool, but thats really it. lol

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
I wish there was a "purchase secret songs" in FFR shop so I can aim for that instead of losing back everything in gambling hall.. like a once in a lifetime 200k fee.
..or I can just stop losing bets.. Edit: x2 creds may be a bit excessive for normal play, maybe more like x1.5 . Last edited by Hakulyte; 01-29-2013 at 01:24 AM.. |

I went from 10k to 1.6mil back in the day, and lost it all :/. I also have constantly gone back to zero credits since returning to FFR 2 weeks ago.

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
As it is most think it's stupid to make people hold on to credits to play songs. Why would we make people hold on to even more?

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
Everyone seemed to be complaining about the inflation issue, so I thought aside from purchases I'd make a joke, while also pointing out something that would make double credits a non-factor while still appeasing the main request of the thread. In the end you COULD do exactly as the title asks, while making it irrelevant... which was the joke. People take me too seriously, I thought this was FFR

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
Maybe people should just play more if they want more credits.

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
Why does anything need to be taken out, if mathematically nothings changed? People would naturally enjoy having more credits, more chances to lose them all on, the gambling hall, and as mentioned before the larger pools in Tournaments which would naturally draw larger crowds... It'll take up maybe 1 more byte of data in your database per active users per decimal increased, this is obviously not a large enough hassle on the server to slow or halt it, and would in no way affect the space dollar economy, so I do not see the harm, but rather present benefits. (P.s. yes we are now having an intellectual discussion on space-bucks, please present more reasons why you feel bigger numbers are bad, it's worked for MMOs... We're just working more toward Keysmashing endgame .)

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
When the system is flooded with credits they hold no value. Before gambling hall started removing some from the system the number was absolutely ridiculous. There are people with over a million credits they're sitting on, what good does that do anyone? How are they going to be enticed by the credit prizes offered by events when they have more than they can do anything with? Has nothing to do with the database, server, any of that. It has to do with having no value. We shouldn't have to have some super huge credit pot as a prize for events. Plus there's no reward for the credits when people have that many. What are people going to get with them when they have so many?

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
Then naturally incentize people to hold more, yes there were tons before and those of us holding tons asked "So why is nothing else coming?" The shop can be expanded with releases that come in, more secret songs, theres much to do that's been neglected, and all of my previous points still stand, I am not convinced to the reason more can't come in. The possibilities are huge, and noting the credit sink that is the gambling hall, as more come in, more will go out, at again the exact same rate mathematically.

It really comes down to this:
Quote:
Adding a huge amount of purchased songs doesn't solve anything either because it's just more songs that aren't accessible by newer players. In order to truly create a credit sink, you have to have something that users WANT to spend their credits on, not something they need to. |

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
I never said permanent -- if you read my post, I clearly said "a 2x credit event". I'm against the idea in general.
Also, you can reference the state of Purchased songs now, but adding more songs doesn't help solve the problem. It requires well over 150,000 credits to obtain every secret song, on top of the 150,000 that you need to have all of the secret songs. 300,000 credits is a huge amount, and should either be a LOT of hard work, or some hard work along with some participation in sitewide events. I really don't know how to explain it anymore explicitly than this: a 2x credit event really isn't necessary. I'd like to second Rushy's post and just say "no". There's really no point arguing about it. |

Yes it will... more content, and the fact that credits are not a problem at all... I touched on the point of the lack of extra burden on the servers... Please explain more about this problem, I am curious. Last edited by Untimely Friction; 01-29-2013 at 02:36 AM.. |

Re: Double Credits.... Should it comeback?
You all know that no matter how many "yes" votes this gets, double credits will not come back because you asked for them to come back.
They were a whim. Thats all. |
