Re: FFR's Top One Handers
No posts in here for a few days, so I figured I would share. I'm proud of AAAing Parachute because I tried for this token a few months ago and didn't get it because I got like 12 goods on Parachute. Sure sign of getting better at FFR that I could AAA that staircase thing.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers
I feel stupid asking this-however-I've FINALLY gotten my average rank below 5000. I play one-handed, 3 fingers lol.
How does one does get onto the list? Or is there some fine print I missed haha. Thanks! |

I'm still kind of waiting on a renaissance of sorts - a new group of one handers who became interested in the thread and the idea and committed themselves to becoming really good at the style. When that happens I'll certainly get back into the habit of updating it regularly again.

Yippee! Show me your scores when you think they're good - I'd love to see them.

Bynary, if the interest becomes great enough I will code a simple rankings page. That way you wont have to update it.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers
Well when it comes to competitive play for scoring purposes, two-handed playing is pretty much the way to go. If you were striving to play for scoring purposes, two hands is a no brainer. But there are still a number of people here who play one-handed either for fun, or as their own playing style. While you can't achieve scores that two-handers can potentially get, one-handed players are still proud of their accomplishments since it's a completely different way of playing that still requires skill. One-handed playing is only a roadblock if you're trying to achieve the highest scores possible.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers
Lol...this beats my second-highest score by a million and 500 combo, but at least I finally did this well. Long songs just kill me, at least this one isn't too difficult. But at the end I couldn't even mash the trills anymore :P.

Re: FFR's Top One Handers
Do any of you guys play ThirdStyle? Maybe I'm just not fully used to it yet but I always end up having trouble with more complicated hold patterns. Wondering if it's another disadvantage of playing one-handed or if I just need to practice them more to get better.

Yes, this is a disadvantage, but we are mostly all here to have fun not compete with the Gurus. (That's near impossible without 4 fingers.)

Re: FFR's Top One Handers
I don't think I've yet bothered playing any levels hard enough to have a pattern like that :P but yesterday I was trying to practice always doing down holds with the last joint of my middle finger so it was easier to hit up arrows at the same time. And as for other things I think it's just a matter of training my brain, because many are totally doable, I'm just too used to FFR so I keep letting go of the holds and stuff.
So I was wondering, are there any Tier Points that are easier than most? I just don't like having 0. I haven't played all those songs recently, in improving my levelranks I'm slowly going up the difficulties and currently on 8s mostly. I've played Crowdpleaser a lot and my score is pretty close to the 1 TP requirement, but I just really can't do hard stuff so I dunno if it's actually reachable. Most of them at like high 10s and up just turn into mashfests for me, which I don't like doing. |
