The songs that don't belong
I'z postinz this thred b/c of da sawng After Altair. It dos nt beelong in tha dance catgory, it sshould but in arcade b/c its from tha Game Bomberman on nitendo 64 cuz i play it lots. thnaks.
No, but seriously, the song After Altair in the dance category, level 4, in my opinion belongs to the arcade category. It's from Bomberman 64 (Nintendo 64) and I know it's a stupid thing to complain about, but I LOVE this game. A few weekends with some friends terrorizing each other (but mostly exploiting glitches) on multiplayer as well as a fun/creative game mechanic, I respect this game a lot. Any others out there that aren't where they should be? |

Re: The songs that don't belong
Nice catch, I'm sure they'll be willing to change it, as I could change it in a matter of minutes if I had access to the FFR database ;p

Re: The songs that don't belong
I mentioned this back when After Altair came out and again a while after that, but it never got moved, because the cover doesn't have any of the "video-game, arcade, retro, chiptune" feels to it. So it was left in Dance.
Same reason why Four Blocks Madness and Thrash the Plank are in Rock and why Ska Cha Cha and Let Mom Sleep are in Misc and Funk, even though those two are from video games. It's kinda inconsistent, though. Bubble Bobble Rodeo doesn't sound retro at all, but it's still in Arcade. And I have no idea what the deal with all the S.S.H. and Touhou music is. There's been a lot of discussion about this in the Ingame Song Information thread and some other threads, but I'm not going to go search them right now. Someone else can probably remember why. |

Re: The songs that don't belong
What did I do to you?
I'm not going to bother saying anything back other than that you totally blew my comment out of proportion 1940u248528394028392x's what it was. I stated that it shouldn't be hard to change because in the xml you change what is a freaking "1" to a freaking "4" or whatever the correct number is, and it takes two seconds to do so and get the new xml where it belongs. Have a nice day, etc. I rather enjoyed mine, sorry I ruined yours with my post. edit: I've actually somewhat decided I don't want to mod for FFR, too many ungrateful jerks on the forums

Just because that's how it's done on the custom engine you have doesn't mean it's the same here. Just FYI. |

can't imagine it being difficult regardless, they're stored by a value indicating where it is located when FFR loads..worst part would be rearranging the location to get it in the right spot IN the genre

Re: The songs that don't belong
I think the argument here is that the style of the arrangement is the deciding factor in what genre a song goes into, rather than the nature of the song's origin. (The Games We Played was done on piano, hence the move from Arcade to Classical.)
Doesn't make sense to some, but that's apparently the way it is. |
