Good idea, although IMO it should be part of the responsibility of the batch organizer to do stuff like this.

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
Saying lol and nothing else in a batch thread is a complete waste of space and adds something unnecessary for people reading the thread and keeping track of it. That's why I deleted your above post too.
You have to understand something here - I'm not upset at the fact that people are wanting the batch notes done as soon as possible. In fact, part of me really wishes that I had finished it all in one shot when I did the first 10 files of the batch, but I got caught at Subconsciousness because it didn't have a .sm file (ALL YOUR FAULT LEONID). The thing that's getting on my nerves, is that people are complaining about the deadline when it's been set in stone for weeks now. Imagine being at school/work and you're working on a project, and you find out that everyone is finished. Do you think it's fair for people to be hounding you down when you have a set deadline for when it's due? There's nothing wrong with being an over-achiever and finishing early, but rushing others for something like that when there's a set date seems incredibly impatient and rude to me. Quote:

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
Halogen, you are aware that I was completely facetious when I made that statement?
PS: I am well aware of the stress and the responsibility that comes with being a judge, and respect that. Just the way you choose your words about the situation at hand, namely the severe impatience of users, seems a little unprofessional at times. Just be the bigger man -- or something like that... Threatening users to use your power is NEVER a good move, seeing as an autocracy on a Rhythm Flash-game Community is not an efficient system, whatsoever. Otherwise, keep up the great work. Edit: I also believe most people are just joking about the process of judging and the speed thereof. No one can be that impatient... right? Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 08-20-2011 at 03:28 PM.. |

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
In any event, I'm still going along with my batch notes. Taking a break to tend to the baby - stopped at Rapids (which is 13 out of however many I have plus 1 that Silvuh passed to me minus 1 that I passed to...whoever, lol).
EDIT: also, I was only threatening to close the batch thread because nothing productive was coming from it and everyone posting the way they were was just asking for a storm of crap |

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
If jimerax doesn't have the time to keep up with the full responsibilities of organizing the batch, I'm sure there are other people who could do it.

My post wasn't a junk it was a serious suggestion. Also stop calling posts junk and removing them just because you are angry
If you have enough life to not have time to judge, then stop volunteering to judge and give other people some chance. Last edited by leonid; 08-20-2011 at 04:31 PM.. |

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
I'm not angry, I simply said enough with the junk posts.
And we never said we didn't have time to do it we said we didn't have time to finish early this time around. We volunteered before the batch was opened because JX doesn't open it until he has enough judges. When we volunteered we had no idea that it would so happen that the batch would be given to us to judge the week before the meet up when we were busy as hell with that plus apartment hunting and he ended up with more hours. Either way, our notes are going to be in on time and I'm sure you guys can survive till tonight. |

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
Here is a solution, temporary lock this thread every time a batch gets sent to the judges so that way no one will force any judge to hurry up with the notes and people like you will stop complaining about users telling other judges to hurry up with the notes during future batches. Once the batch notes is released, this thread can then be unlocked just in case people complain about unfair judgment in their files/have any questions/etc. Problem would be reduced and there would be less drama in this thread. It's funny how something so "big" (apparently) could be solved with little effort.
For the record, I never complained nor was I impatient. I just asked a simple question and I get a answer plus a threat! Awesome :3

- there's a posted deadline that people are being impatient about - there's 12 judges assigned, with backup judges when needed there's no reason for people on the judging team to sit and be incredibly impatient, or asking as to why people are on the team, because while you might not think so, it's an extremely rude question in this particular context. There's absolutely no need for judges to complain about others not being done before the deadline. JX can set a tighter deadline, or judges can just sit there away from the thread and wait for the rest of the team to finish. suggestion: next batch - don't list when judges are finished or don't put an end date in the public thread. EDIT: actually, let me make this more clear (done) |

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
Better solution: close special batch threads immediately after submissions are closed. Any further inquiry can be sent to a central email address that all judges/coordinatorrs have access to.
Questions regarding batch notes will be ignored, etc. |

Threads like this are nice for communicating with those who have sent content, though. Something might happen with a file sent, like forgetting to add silence, or having the wrong .sm/.dwi, and all of the judges can see.

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
Yes, this post is spam to some, but here's a suggestion:
Let's leave the judging deadline in the OP for future batches to leave the site as transparent and honest as possible. I almost never post in this thread before the batch notes get released and would hate to come everyday in order to see if the notes are out or not. People might be impatient, but I believe the mods can understand! We're one single day from the final verdict. Disrespect is not something I root for, of course, and I understand AJ and Kayla's point of view about that. However, we're just a couple of kids who are anxious to know wether or not the veterans of this place are proud of what we did for this community. That could be understood, too... no? This thread is definitely something we want open in case someone ran into an issue with a file they may have sent but if this keeps up then some type of action has got to take place or else you're going to be repeating the SAME THING every time a new batch is sent to the judges. I honestly do not care what you guys do/suggest as long as it reduces this repetitive drama that happens every time. EDIT: I am done with this thread. Feel free to delete my posts if it's too much of a junk or whatever. Peace :3

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
Your posts pertain to the batch; no reason to really delete them.
All I'm saying, is that everyone, both judges and users, need to be aware of the deadlines. Not everyone will get the notes in immediately, but as long as they get in by the specified date, it'll be alright. Besides, when there's a set date that doesn't changed, then users can get hyped about how much closer it is (see: MarioNintendo). (side note: ten more files aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasedrtfghyujkl) |
