@Plan_B Really? Because I can't get under 30 goods on 9s with my vista/win7, but I've AAAd over 45 10s with my XP.

You must have special computers (or like 3 million TB of RAM)

How about just take raw score and make misses remove 3 times more points than they do now.

You would have make boos decrease more as well, considering, that would just encourage more mashing I'd think.

Why would there be more mashing if scores arent 90% dependant on combo like they are now?

People mash now cause it is profitable to mash rather than just pa. I wish i could just play those gurus and get good pa on them, i'd probly get decent ranks, but everyone mashed them and its impossible for me to get a good score if i dont mash fc them.

Mashing would naturally harm a score under the right metrics due to the utter **** it'd deliver to the accuracy portion. Problem solves itself.

Only mash the hard parts. You'll get a better score than someone who just mashed the whole song. lol @ the purpose of this thread slowly straying off-topic.

I agree with rubix. Now we just have to rewrite the code for NSane so he doesn't get overwhelmed. ;]

Any idea how it would work?

The code is piss-easy. We already know how score is calculated:

1000*(your max combo) + 550*(your perfects) + 275*(your goods) + 55*(your averages) - 270*(your misses) - 30*(your boos)

That's about it. Just an equation processed somewhere in the Flash code.
