I think they should teach more about the opposite gender than they do. I know it's more important to focus on your own gender, but part of education should be learning both sides.

They sort of explained it, but not well enough. For a while I was under the impression that males went through a cycle like females did, and that's what ejaculation was.

m3rkabik has a good point. I'm Christian, but schools need to tell kids about condoms and other protections. It may promote early sex a little bit, but I feel it is more improtant for kids to protected sex then to not have it at all. Unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy and STD's which can ruin someones life. And also, if kids wanna have sex, they'll have sex. It's stupid that schools aren't telling kids much about how to have safe sex if they're going to at all. Condoms save lives lol.

[/generalization/] Parents these days are afraid. Afraid because they can't stand to see you grow up so fast. To them you're still their babies. The last thing that they want to happen is for you to start learning about sex and what not. [/generalization/]

I think that everyone should be tested for STDs/HIV at a certain age, then have their information on a card people carry around like a driver's liscence. Although it may not be updated, it should have the last checkup on the card. This could reduce STDs, AIDS, and pregnancies. This could also help legalize prostitution, which, although I wouldn't have sex with or become a prostitute, I believe should be an American right.

If prostitution is legal then suicide should be legal too, they're both pretty much the same thing but one involves sex. Most prostitutes (I'm pretty sure) die from STD's and such.

I don't think so. We're not in the medieval era anymore.

Also I don't think prostitution should be encouraged in any way.

Legal prostitution would make prostitution a lot safer than it is now. Both people [or more] would need to by law get tested, and I am sure there would be taxes for the prostitutes. It would just be hard to regulate.

1) Suicide is legal, depending where you are in the world - it's legal here. I don't know about america. Most of the time, suicide being illegal is a myth. So I'd say it's likely a myth over there. Kind of like the "illegal to drive without shoes on" myth. There is no state where it is illegal to drive without shoes (to my knowledge) and there is DEFINITELY no federal law against it.

2) STDs are not a major concern to prostitutes who use condoms. You're looking at the wrong problem. Violence and rape are much more common.

3) By your argument, sex is suicide, since you ALWAYS have a chance of earning yourself a shiny new STD. Also most STDs do not kill.

4) Pretty much nobody "encourages" prostitution. The argument is that it should be legal. That does not necessarily mean encouraged. However, in our type of society people have trouble differentiating between "encouraged" and "legal". The problem with that view is that something being illegal NEVER stops the action - it simply pushes it underground and makes criminals out of those who choose to do it. Our legal system should not be enforcing moral standards - instead they should focus on real crime.

The intention is not to encourage, but the result is there. As you've said it, "this" type of society people tend to mix both, thinking: "If it's legal, it must be the way to go."

The "result" is not there. The mindset is there, but encouragement by society does nothing. People still do illegal things. Sometimes things being illegal cause people to do them. Sometimes if people have done one illegal thing, they think "**** it, might as well do them all". No such effect with legal things. If you eat a pizza it does not give you the urge to fly a kite.

I don't have the proper vocabulary to answer to your post in a way that I would make myself clear and precise.

Then again, who is to say what should and should not be taught in schools? Personally, I think schools focus too much on standardized test scores and too little on promoting the general good of students. But thats just me, coming from a school where literally half the students don't have the requirements to pass their grade.
