o coo varia and jewpy really are super-close together.

I never really found out how far away Fish is, but he says the drive to one of the malls in the area is the same distance for him as it is for me, so it's gotta be like 20 miles at most.

Yeah that sounds like bull****. $422,000 average? That's nothing. Almost every single house in my town (that isn't one of the old ones) goes for at least 1.5-2 million. My town isn't even that bad compared to places here like Mantoloking.

Almost all the houses in my town that are relatively new go for about that much too, but the average is brought down because of all the old ones way out near the city limits go for much cheaper. The only houses I've seen for sale these past two years for under $500 000 - 700 000 are seniors only places and houses that look like shacks, with 2 or 3 exceptions. I think the biggest thing with housing prices where I live is that they're exploding. One of my teachers bought a house about 5, maybe 10 years ago for $50 000 and now they're selling it for almost $500 000.I think the average price rose something like 120% over 2, maybe 3 years, and is expected to go up even faster. However, I do agree that housing prices are much higher in quite a few other places, but then again, it's Canada. lol
Anyways, enough of my blabbering.

i dont live in a house. i live (or sleep) against an old gas pump at this run down gas station where my family hangs out (sleeps). my dad gets the nice bed. (a broken down car)

Well, he lives in Canada... maybe Canada has cheap housing.

500,000 would buy you a mansion around here. Though, I suppose this depends on where you're putting your house. Housing in commericial or by the water goes up quite a bit. Still, I would say there are only a few million dollar homes in the whole city. And they are absolutely incredibly massive and you'd know it when you saw it.


I feel so poor. I don't even think our home is worth $100,000...

The is where I'm pretty sure I got a flat tire about an hour ago. Not sure, came home and the air was rushing out. Anyways, it's an evil, evil place...Got in an accident there too.

Second Canadian opinion: Yeah, my old house was worth about $100,000 when it was bought but when we sold it, it went for $150,000.

We bought the house I'm in now for $250,000, and it's good as or better than most in my neighbourhood. Last year, a guy with the same model house as us sold it for $450,000. That's nearly a 100% increase over two years, and he didn't even have a pool. o_O

let's give a hearty cheer for real estate prices exploding just as we're looking to buy
