FFR Credit Applications
From my understanding credits don't have too many applications on the site. Sure they're a way of displaying wealth (somewhat) but there aren't too many ways to spend credits that make you want to have more all the time. Some applications that I can think of off the top of my head are:
-Gambling Hall -Guessing Arrows Game -Donations to Tourneys -Profiles -Buying Songs -Secret Songs Those are some I can think of off the top of my head but they all seem... dispensable. The Gambling Hall and the Guessing Game just reward more credits. Donations don't really net you any practical rewards (unless you think that generosity and community praise are one of them). Profiles you only need to buy once. I can easily buy all of the songs in the shop right now (although I have no interest in doing so now). And secret songs are just an excuse to whore your credits to yourself (I really think you shouldn't have to keep your credits for the song as much as reach the prerequisite for it). So can you think of interesting things you would like to see credits do to enhance their value and circulate them among the community better? |

They should make it so that you can buy any tokens/skill tokens you want with them. But for a lot of credits. Although I doubt they'd be that nice.

Eh, I'd agree for regular tokens, but since skill tokens have actual skill requirements as opposed to hidden locations for the regular ones (most of which are defunct now I'm certain), I don't think paying credits to obtain them would be the best idea.

We could bring back Punch Tass.
And then add some random token with a .01% drop percentage per punch. |

Well we already have a bunch of files that are unplayable except to about 1/60000 of users so I don't see more being that way as a problem, unless we have a problem to begin with.

Re: FFR Credit Applications
The staff had a talk previously about credit sinks and there were many great ideas, but unfortunately most of it would require a decent amount of coding in some form or another. Basically, we still lack coding manpower. And some ideas were probably hard to realize from a coding perspective as well.
I think a lot of us would want additional stuff like new noteskins to purchase and such, but they're not as easy to implement as new purchaseable songs. |

Buying noteskins is an awesome idea, but yeah that doesn't sound easy to implement.

lol'd so hard Anyway, yeah. Coming across good ideas for credit use isn't that difficult.. it's more trouble finding the way to make those ideas feasible. At least that's always been the case in the past (definitely not the first time credit worthlessness has been brought up..). Maybe I'll see if I can recall some of my old ideas and figure out if any of them are practical. |

Re: FFR Credit Applications
Is it possible to code the ffr engine to give you negative credits when you fail to play through an entire file?
It does this when you fail out at the start but only takes 1 credit. Maybe even make it deduct 1 credit for every boo you get. Or would this be to complex to code?

Re: FFR Credit Applications
Well I understand where you're coming from but imo this wouldn't be a bad way to sink credits. I know plenty of higher end players who have credits in the millions that quit out of a song and replay it so in the end they wouldn't end up earning as many as they usually do.
