I don't feel like this makes sense. Average rank is an active competition. Just add an additional stat somewhere if anything that shows your alltime best.

This is a pretty good suggestion considering most of the FFr population is growing up and has to deal with life now. So not everyone is able to play and stay into tip top shape anymore. I know myself I've dropped my avg down to 100 multiple times and then oops it goes back up because i don't have time for it. +1

Since the Avg rank fluctuates so often, I was thinking it might be a good idea to show a person's highest achieved avg rank on their profiles. Still showing their current one as well of course. Surely this can't be hard to code in? I suggest this because, players like myself don't play as much anymore and would be nice to see if a player is taking a break or just new at this game ranking up.

I believe that was covered in the OP, unless I'm totally misconstruing what you're saying.

I guess it is just slightly different.

The idea of replacing avg rank with your all time best avg rank or making a new stat that is your all time best.

How about Quotes and a plus symbol next to avg rank? Ex: Average Rank 1 (+24.73); The quotes show your unplaced level ranks. FFR's rank for that player would still be 26. The current system ruins one big important number when you don't submit scores for a while. v0lcom's idea is a nice neutralizer against the current negative effects new songs have on players who don't get on as often.

the idea to have this is good, but problem is that newbies who haven't played many songs could still have extremely low ave ranks if they just have AAAs, etc...
i recon best ave rank gained would still be better

The only value that I see in this suggestion is to see how everyone in their FFR prime compares to others in their prime. It would be interesting to see a list of top players (over the course of FFR's presence) ranking them based on their "best" average rank at their respective times.

Other than that, I don't see any need in this suggestion. It certainly would be nice to have, but if you can acknowledge your personal best ranks, that should be enough to make you at least content.
