AAA help!
Hey, I was just wondering if any of you have certain things you do or keep in mind to help you get more perfects? Maybe some tips or tricks to get better at getting more perfects? Thanks.

Re: AAA help!
lol 1.25
Switch to x2.0! It's much better. At least to 1.75x, which is the common high. Also, turn the sound off for better PA.

Re: AAA help!
Speed mod or Screen shrinking will help.
Oh, and practice. |

Re: AAA help!
Keep your eyes focused on the top arrows and use your peripheral vision to see the other arrows that are coming up. If your eyes are focused at the top it should be much easier to have better PA. Also, use a speed mod. Preferably the fastest you can handle. I would advise gradually changing it, starting with 1.25, then 1.5, then 1.75 if you need it. One thing that's helping me right now is playing hard and easy and medium difficulty songs, and focusing purely on PA, not caring about combos. I've done this for about a week, now I'm getting better PA whether I focus purely on PA or not.
I won't advise for or against screen-shrinking because I haven't tried it for more than a week.

Re: AAA help!
take each arrow one at a time n.n
you know you can get a perfect on the first arrow... then think you can the second, and so on and so on... starting on slower songs... then you get used to it... gradually go harder songs =) |

Re: AAA help!
I actually find that my PA is better being a music major. Make the beat a part of you, and hope to God that the song-maker made it right with the tempo. I've gotten a LOT more perfects that way. I'm still not AMAZINGOMG player yet, but I'm decent. Usually around 50 goods or so per song, and I tend to play VD or higher. *shrugs*
But...Yah...That's what I do. |

Re: AAA help!
Up until about October this year, I was an old fashioned 1x screencutter, but at some point I switched to 1.25x, and then 1.5x and I've pretty much seen my AAA count double. I'm AAAing Difficult songs now, and looking for my first Very Difficult here soon.
It's true - the mods help your PA and combo so much. Take note of my now 295 FC's. If you're looking to AAA, you have to use a speed mod, but don't go higher than 1.75x. I recommend getting accustomed with 1.25x, then slowly working to 1.5x. |

Re: AAA help!
Auto Failing is good, Just don't set it to 1 good fail, You'll die in stress Lol
I usually set it to 1 miss-fail (if you're trying to AAA something, that means you can FC it any time) so when i get a good (or over the amount I was aiming at), I just let myself fail. |

Re: AAA help!
1x : 10:1 perfect:good ratio
1.75x : typically 1000:1 perfect:good ratio, as long as the song doesn't have many 4-framers |

Re: AAA help!
I tried SM the other day and every single song I downloaded seems to have its own speed associated with it... Most songs also have parts where the speed suddenly slows down a ton for part of the song and then speeds back up. It makes it really hard to play.

Re: AAA help!
I've found that it helps to NOT anticipate the arrow. Hit it on the beats. I have been in band for ages, so I'm very used to following a beat. Hell, some of the files you can almost guess how it's going to be. Most dance songs have a very predictable pattern that once you learn, all the songs become fairly easy.
