Attention would-be AIM activity checkers:

The game will start no sooner than 11 PM EDT, tomorrow, Friday May 20th. So don't bother trying to figure out special roles that way.

All nights will last exactly 24 hours. If I don't have a pick from blues by then, they forfeit their special ability (seering or guardianing) for that night. If I don't have the pick from the wolves, I pick a random kill for the night from ALL PLAYERS (this includes wolves.)

USE PM INSTEAD OF IM FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS. This is far more reliable.

Indecision and inactivity are not in your best interests.

Default RE: TWG XVI

"Good evening to you all," says the elderly man in a pleasant baritone. "I'm sure you all know who I am, and why I've gathered the sixteen of you here today..."

"Actually, we were just wondering that ourselves," says Hans.

"Why, I'm J. Tobias Eschenbacher III, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher III, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat. "And I welcome you to my haunting 18th century Victorian manor, many miles from civilization. It is here that I live out my days in peace, without any means of contacting the outside world - telephones and the like."

"I remember you now!" says Tasselfoot. "I saw a piece about you on 60 Minutes! Something about how you're so lonely in your old age that you invite groups of guests to dinner in your home, only to pit them against each other in dangerous and deadly contests of wits against each other for your own personal amusement!"

"Oh my, yes," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher III, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat. "I've done that only a few dozen times. But that's not why I've invited you here. You're all here as my dinner guests!"

The sixteen guests look at each other.

"I just remembered! I have an appointment to attend to tonight," says Mead. "If you'll excuse me." He turns and walks to the main door and tries to open it. The handle does not move.

"Oh, dear. It looks like it's been locked from the outside," says the host. "It happens sometimes, what with the night air and all."

"Night air?" asks Flypie.

"Oh, of course," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher III, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat. "You see, sometimes I have to lock the doors from the outside at night. A lot of strange characters wander the trails in the forest at the base of the mountain. I have to make sure that under no circumstances may they leave."

"Uh...Mr. Eschenbacher..." says Lightdarkness.

"Please, I prefer to be addressed by my full name."

"J. Tobias Eschenbacher..."

"My full name, please."

"J. Tobias Eschenbacher, wealthy hermit and plutocrat..."

"Notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat..."

"J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat..."

"Good."

"Why on earth would you want to keep dangerous vagabonds from-"

"I'm sorry, for failure to address me properly, you forfeit your right to speak," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat with a smile.

"But!"

"If you want to discuss this later," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat, "I'd be more than happy to discuss this with you over a cup of tea in the dungeon."

Lightdarkness gets a look of shock on his face.

J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat smiles. "Don't let the name get you frightened. It's really just a fancy term for torture chamber."

Stretchy begins to panic. She charges for the nearby window and leaps into it. She smashes her head directly into the glass and is shoved back by the force of the impact. She lands awkwardly on her side, reeling from the pane."

The host laughs with a pleasant, content smile on his face. "This may be an old manor, but I haven't let it rot away. About ten years ago I replaced all the windows with bulletproof, shatterproof lexan. A good choice. It keeps everything from escaping - even heat. Now I don't have to gather so much firewood from the harsh, forgiving outdoors."

"There's something funny about all this..." says Omeganitros.

The other 15 give him dumb looks.

"Beginning our tour," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat, "I shall show you the grand hall. In here is my grand pipe organ. Sitting by it is my organist, who entertains me by playing Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D minor. Demonstrate for us, please?"

The organist plays the first few bars of the Tocatta.

"Does he play anything else? Perhaps, uh...something, uh...a bit cheerier!" asks Talisman.

"No, that's basically all I need him for," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat. "That one song."

"I see," says Talisman.

"Now, moving on. This is the power generator room. The entire manor is powered by an enormous lightning rod, which draws storms to this area to create mood and attract lightning to form electricity."

"I'm sorry, did you say 'create mood'?" asks Aperson.

"Oh my, yes," says J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable wealthy hermit and plutocrat with a smile. "This here is the main breaker. I can just flip this switch and engulf the entire manor in bone-chilling darkness for several seconds. Observe."

He flips the switch, engulfing the entire manor in bone-chilling darknness for several seconds.

There is a scream.

Then a thud against the wall. From somewhere within the room there are the sounds of a great struggle.

There is another scream.

Someone flips the lights back on. HansSky lies dead in the center of the room, covered with blood, most of which appears to not be his. Eschenbacher's body lies on top of him.

"I can't believe someone killed Eschenbacher!" says Tps.

Flypie interjects. "That's J. Tobias Eschenbacher, notable..."

"Shut up, you," says Tps. "He's dead now, and I don't give a damn if he thinks we're insulting his dignity, or privilege, or whatever."

"It is very likely," says Lightdarkness, "that the murderer was after Eschenbacher's fortune."

"I thought you weren't allowed to talk anymore?" asks Tasselfoot.

"Shut up, you," says Lightdarkness. "He's dead now, and I don't give a damn about his little idiosyncracies."

The other fifteen look at Lightdarkness with gaping mouths, stunned that he was able to correctly use (and spell!) such a large word.

"Anyway. Fortune?" asks Evilbutterfly.

"Oh yes! He had over fifty million dollars to his name, not including this manor," says Aperson.

"And to be honest, I'm not all that disappointed that he's dead."

Everyone turns to the door of the room. A young man of about twenty-something years stands in the threshold.

"I'm happy to know that my father, that dead man on the floor..."

"Hans?" says Djshox.

"No, you simpleton, Eschenbacher. His last will and testament names me, his only next of kin, the sole successor to-"

The lights go out again, and another scream is heard. The lights come on.

Eschenbacher's son lies dead in the doorway with a dagger in his back. The fifteen guests are pushed back against the opposite wall, as if to avoid incriminating themselves with their proximity.

"It's clear," says Snapps. "The killer, or killers, is or are after his or their fortune or fortunes."

"There's only one fortune, you oaf," says Blah.

"So? There's only one right thing to do," says Nforcer. "Find the fortune, and split it amongst ourselves!"

"There are murderers in our midst!" says Kilgamayan. "They killed once for money, and they'll do it again. I'm sure we're all in great danger. We have to find them!"

"Why?" says Omeganitros. "Let's just take the money and run!"

"But we're trapped in here until dawn," says Flypie. "We've got to get to work solving this mystery before more of us start getting killed."

It is now Day 1. You have 69 hours (that's Tuesday, at 6 PM Eastern).

I was going to vote for the host, because the host was a wolf in TWG I, and this is like this, but you ruined my fun

P.S. You suck

And for the record, Hans started a convo like that with me too, I guess he was just fooling around...

lol at the story. Quite a few groaners in there.

As for the kill, hans is a strong player but not strong enough to be a likely guard on night one? I'm not sure if the kill gives us anything to go on or if we're stuck with the normal day one doldrums.

Is that long ass story what took so long? Because I totally didn't read that. And I think Hans said something like that to me, too. Hell, I can't remember, that was 2 days ago. Because somebody didn't unlock the topic very quickly :P. I'll read the story later, perhaps. Um, but yeah, wolves, who could they be? I dunno. This is when I start complaining about how Day 1 sucks and we never know anything, but instead, I'm gonna go get ice cream.

Geez, I've become way too laid back about this game.

I remember talking to Hans pregame and we were both talking about how we just didn't give a fuck since we were both greens and there's no reason to really care since nothing interesting happens when you're just a dumb fucking green. We both mused about our intuitions and the one common name was Omeganitros. We joked and rambled about how we should just vote for him without explanation when day one opens. But now Hans is dead, you fucking cocksticks. So here's my homage to Hans:

Omeganitros

Whatever, usually I'm some pretty, colorful role, but don't expect much out of me because being green bores the piss out of me. Have fun with your werewolf game and the all new emo-Tass.

Don't even waste time seeing me, or see me if you want to just throw away a seeing on a green, I really don't care this game.

Hilarious. I was going to vote aperson. It's not a very good revenge for your damn eyeslit.gif, but it's something.

I think Hans pretty much tried to strike up TWG conversation with everyone. I know that I too was contacted by him about TWG. I guess he must have talked to a wolf, and whatever he said got him killed.

Wow are you guys all retarded? I look at this crap and it makes me want to cry. Why did you sign up then to play aperson? I really hope what you're doing is just completely an act or something, because otherwise I'd be really pissed off. You're better then that. And you guys know there's always something to go on, so I don't want to hear this crap to the contrary

Oh come on now blah, there's nothing to go on right now. And if there becomes something to go on, somebody will say it. Until then, we'll all complain about how there's nothing to go on, because there isn't.

This ap vs Omega thing is of interest, though. ap puts more into games usually, doesn't he? He's got a trick up his sleeve...or he really just doesn't care. Either way, that may be not good. And Omega....I dunno. I only know him as the Topicwhore that he is, not as a TWG player...

(Ugh. Couldn't sleep...)

Topicwhore, Audiophile, and semi-casual TWG player.

But this HansSky death really bothers me for some reason. There were plenty of better candidates that might not have been guarded. I have two theories:
1) In his adventure to chat it up with everyone, he ran into a wolf, and said something that unnerved the wolf.
2) Personal vendetta from last game. djshox or lightdarkness? I'm not making accusations, but I'm not ruling it out either.

I'd go with number 1. Plus, didn't Hans get wolfed a bunch recently because of his gut feelings always being right?

And what would djshox or LD have against him? I wasn't here last game () so I wouldn't know...

and djshox wasn't even involved....

It was flux, hans, and myself in the final moments, and I decided to lynch flux with hans, which was my mistake. Honestly, I didn't even remember that game til you mentioned it, and I would do a revenge kill games later...

Wow, I was gone for two days, and I missed absolutely nothing.

Regardless, we probably won't get much from Hans' killing, as it was an entireley sensible kill.

Except he never tells anyone what they are for fear of them being wrong.
