Most expensive hobby item you've purchased?
I stumbled upon this article:
http://www.ibtimes.com/rare-nintendo...o-game-1548081 And I was thinking about how much money I've spent on hobby items but not a whole lot of stuff fully interests me and I don't always have a lot of money to throw around. Most expensive thing would be my guitar amplifier - $500 So how much money have you spent on a single hobby item? And was it worth it? |

Re: Most expensive hobby item you've purchased?
My computer has maybe $2600 worth of hardware in it, but the most expensive single item in it is the $400 graphics card. Technically I also have a $3000 tv, but I don't think that counts.

I suppose you can also count apparatus like my DSLR camera, but I haven't really developed photography as a hobby yet. The DSLR I can't remember but comes out to over 1k with accessories. |

Re: Most expensive hobby item you've purchased?
I guess outside of general electronics and more actual hobbies I've spent $120 on a single figure before. Most being about $35 totaling around $1000. I've essentially run out of shelf space so I've hit my limit for now.
Who wouldn't spend $120 on their waifu? |

I don't remember exactly how much I paid, but the models and terrain pieces for Warhammer 40K cost a quite a bit.

Re: Most expensive hobby item you've purchased?
My sister used to be one of the main distributors for girl scout cookies in our area many years ago and after they failed to sell half of them or so my parents would just buy up the remaining crates of them so we would end up with like 700 dollars of girl scout cookies that lasted months.

If it's a job I'd still consider it a hobby because you were probably doing it before you made it a job.
I'm interested in pics of it too. Any left? What kind of handgun is it? I been looking into getting something myself. Last edited by XxXMetalheadXxX; 07-13-2014 at 12:31 PM.. Reason: Left one comment out. |

Leonid, give us pictures of that handmade puzzle
As for me, the most expensive thing I've bought is my laptop three years ago for a little less than $700. After that would probably be my phone and the Wii-U I just bought for $200 each. |

Re: Most expensive hobby item you've purchased?
this isnt expensive or exotic lol
my most expensive is probably my insane desktop setup. I keep pouring money into it, initial build was 1500, I've since added 850$ worth of new parts (updated graphics card, ssd, more hard drives) and around $1000-$1200 in peripherals (a few mechanical keyboards, studio monitor speakers, 2 27" monitors, etc) so thats a grand total of around $3500 unless I added it up wrong |

Yeah, it's called getting it directly from the source in San Francisco, instead of paying the heavily taxed prices that come with it going out of state. Would've been in the 5k range most anywhere else, it was most definitely exotic as fuck. Don't talk to me about weed bro lol |

Re: Most expensive hobby item you've purchased?
That is quite the expensive hobby. I don't think I could ever bring myself to spend so much on something consumable.

Re: Most expensive hobby item you've purchased?
It's a toss up between my most expensive keyboard and my headset. For a single keyboard it was around $200 or so, or all my keyboards..around maybe $500-600. The headset was about $150 i think.
