RE: Five Iron Frenzy
Actually, I have heard of this band. My cousin liked their music since the early nineties. He still has a hoodie and a poster with their logo on it.
I believe they made a CD in which they do the same song 20+ different ways in different musical styles. It was awesome. ~Squeek |

I thought they broke up longer than a year ago. But yeah, I really like most of their music, granted, I've only heard one of their CDs.
It's interesting to note that every Christian radio station I've heard plays them all the time because they're really the only good Christian band, period. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Yeah, I use to really dig FIF back when I was all about ska and punk (about 5 years ago). I still enjoy their music, but ever since I found out they were Christian, I stopped listening to them. Same with the O.C. Supertones. Although FIF isnt as annoyingly Christian as the Supertones, it's annoying enough to turn me off.

I just didn't like a lot of their Christian songs even before I found out they were Christian. And usually I can't even make out the lyrics, so whatever goes goes. Even though the Greatest Story Ever Told song is obviously Christian it's still awesome.

Most of FIF's song lyric's are stomachable and not overly in-your-face Jesus. And some of their songs are just completely random all around fun for everyone. And at least they are uplifiting.
The Supertones on the other hand are way to in-your-face-Jesus with their lyrics and EVERY DAMN SONG IS ABOUT JESUS DYING FOR YOUR SINS or JESUS SURFING FOR YOUR SINS or some jazz like that. Even their uplifting songs are depressing. You know what, I am going to listen to my FIF CD right now. Just a little Jewpinthethird fun-fact: I once played the trumpet in a christian ska band for my friend's Church. I considered myself agnostic at the time too. |
