Kuusou Mesorogiwi (Fantasy Mythology) [4 Key]
I'd bore you all with a story of why I stepped this and how long it took ect, but I really don't think you care. So I'll keep it short! One difficulty: Hard Has a lot of precise sections where if you're not careful you're gonna murk up a lot. ^ Click this to download ^ And before you ask, no I didn't cut it. This is the full version! In short, I hope it's actually enjoyed by someone. I put a great deal of effort trying to catch all my own mistakes and charting it properly. I'm sure there's at least a few small mistakes. |

Re: Kuusou Mesorogiwi (Fantasy Mythology) [4 Key]
some parts were really inconsistent (vocal freezes, mine usage, pr, etc) and patterns overall were kinda awkward
especially that 32nd stream near the beginning, holy shit what was that

Ehhhhh not all the holds are to the vocals some of them are to the violin when I wanted to emphasize it in the drums I think it was most of the time. The mines are placed where there were notes I stepped at other points, but at the point where they are, I felt that stepping them would cause unbearable patterns. And @ the 32nd stream I assume you're referring to this one: In which case it's the the drums. Slow it to .5 and you'll hear it. (.5 is where I stepped a majority of this. One part though I think I used .3) It's a mesh of the pedal hi hats and snare. There's another section that sounds similar in the second verse but it doesn't have the pedal going there that way (or my ear missed it.) When it comes to the pattern, it was kind of just randomly placed to what felt like it fit. But yeah, thanks Choofers for at least trying it out and commenting. Appreciate it very much. |

what that looks like is a 44223311 minijack section with 32nds placed randomly, it's really awkward to hit

Hold placement is really awkward, I found some parts to be pretty fun but overall the excessive hold placement/usage is the main problem for me.

General rule of thumb: If ya can't hear it on 1.0, don't step to it

Well with the type of music you step it's understandable

Re: Kuusou Mesorogiwi (Fantasy Mythology) [4 Key]
I stepped Twister at .3 speed
Edit: About the file: Ehhh... needs work? The intro is... first you make it holdstream, then you decide to get rid of the stream because your holds become jumps? Make up your mind on how you step a section. The first guitar riff of the track you make a hold, and afterwards you make it 32nd stream? Same as above. I'll let the drum roll slide, because I just slapped a generic roll on there when I stepped it. I forgot where, but there are transition parts that are stepped as 3 jumpholds when you're obviously forgetting the rhythm there. Also, step the short version, the long version is just... long... and repeats... Overall, it was stepped in a way that made sort of sense. 4/10

What ValoR is saying is that it's ok to ignore discreet, hard-to-hear sounds. Almost any player will play a song at a 1.0x music rate, so they can only hear and pay attention to so much.
Of course, slow down the music to ensure the accuracy of the sounds you do want to step. Just avoid petty details. |

I also think maybe in the future I need to do some extra reading on mine usage XD
Is there a good thread for that? |

Don't think people have gone into great detail with a how-to guide for mines. A generality is that mines are an acquired taste, and some people turn them off altogether. Use them with moderation.

Re: Kuusou Mesorogiwi (Fantasy Mythology) [4 Key]
mine placement for me just comes naturally. other than placing mines to distinct non-musical sounds, try to find the line between fun and unnecessary
