Re: Metroid Zero Mission in 37min
Good time. I couldn't really get into this game but Super Metroid is a lot of fun to speedrun. You should learn to run it. :P

Re: Metroid Zero Mission in 37min
I never practiced a 100% run, so I don't have an optimized path xD
I have a file that's near 100% (missing 3 life packs and probably a bunch of missiles) and it's just barely under 4 hours. I did however go for a least percent once, I got 12% (oh god it was hard) and it took an hour and a half haha (the least you can get is 9%)

Have you considered emulating the game? I ask this for the purpose of easier capture. Not only that, but you could go for a tool assisted speedrun (TAS).

as for TAS, I don't have the patience to make an absolutely optimized run, some people do but not me xD

Re: Metroid Zero Mission in 37min
In general, there are three categories of speedrun:
Low% (collecting only the items that are absolutely essential to completing the game) Any% (classic speedrun) 100% (get all the hidden stuff and beat all the bosses) That being said, I do have a picture of me beating Pokemon Ruby with a time of 8:32:18 sitting around somewhere, but I didn't know all the little tricks serious runners use like one-letter names. I think the luck I had during the run (OHKOing Winona's Altaria with a critical hit Ice Beam from Marshtomp) made up for it somewhat. Also, http://speeddemosarchive.com

Re: Metroid Zero Mission in 37min
37m is a beast time; nice one
my best any% run on this game is like 43 mins with 2 deaths, but i haven't played for a year best 100% time is around 1:25 -- can probably get sub 1:20 with more shinespark-carrying practice super metroid is fun too; what are your best times for that game? |

http://tasvideos.org/1946S.html Current best TAS time is 21:27 (ingame) http://tasvideos.org/1380M.html http://tasvideos.org/2436S.html Current best 100% TAS time is 42:07 (ingame) (someone might be making a better run on the TASvideos forums, these runs are pretty out of date) http://speeddemosarchive.com/MetroidZeroMission.html for human played record speedruns. I used to TAS the GBA Metroid games. Never made a complete run but I had some pretty cool demo TASes. They were all on my old HD that died though, haven't touched the games in ages.

Re: Metroid Zero Mission in 37min
Ok a speedrun from me isn't likely to happen since I lost so much skill on this game
It's been years since I've played it haha, I don't think I can even get under 40min now if I really tried sadly. But seeing how other people have my score beat by a pretty fair ammount I guess there's no need for me to record slower run xD cool to see some ffr bros play gba games and like metroid though
