Songs to increase speed
I have difficulty doing jumpstreams and one-hand trills on songs that are 55+ and im trying to skill boost to playing 60's. Are there any good songs that i should really grind to help me practice and get better at these things?

Re: Songs to increase speed
I couldn't give you specific songs, but you can always try the FFR mania engine and play files in the nuclear blast jumpstream packs. Speed naturally comes to you as you play.

Re: Songs to increase speed
Either play songs that you are comfortable with on higher rates or just play a lot of songs that are just a bit too hard for you. I'd stay away from FFRmania since most of the songs on that engine are quite a bit harder than you'd probably feel comfortable with.

Re: Songs to increase speed
Max Forever, K8107 and M.A.M.A for one hand patterns.
Flight of the Bumblebee, Blooddrunk[heavy] and Thunderlight if you want to push it. I'm not sure for jumpstream, I'd probably say try "Get Down" and "Bowser the Shredder", but there's plenty of things to practice with jumpstream. VS Boss Battle would be the popular choice if you want to push it. Last edited by Hakulyte; 12-26-2014 at 08:49 PM.. |

Re: Songs to increase speed
VS Boss Battle, Thinking of you, Serious Shit, Freedom Dive, Poison of the Hearth..... on low rates. Try to find a good rate for FC the song, then you've to increase it until you get it complicated.. That could be a way for jumpstreams

Re: Songs to increase speed
I always felt like speed was something unique to players.
In that sense, I mean that learning how to get better is unique, where people can give you advice and what has worked for many players, but you really need to play whatever is comfortable to you. For advice, FFRMania/Stepmania are very helpful in skilljumping, but alas with Stepmania, it's hard for some players to keep transferring back and forth and you might or might not experience the same issue. One hand trills: literally keep playing Thunder Light mirror/no mirror. Also Flight of the Bumblebee. Jumpstream: I'm not sure about what songs in that range contain good jumpstream to practice on, but Novo Mundo has the ending, Sleep (iirc), and Serious Shit (.6x or .8x rate).

160bpm OH trills too fast? That's what rates are for! Thunder Light 0.8 until you can do 0.9 until you can do 1.0 until you can do increased rates... Thunder Light is a wonderful warmup/practice file.

Jumpstreams Suck
|
Re: Songs to increase speed
I suck at jumpstreams as well. I think some good ones, in no particular order would be:
Eclipse (43) All Y'all Bitches (65) Rottel-da-Station (66) Saffron City (69) ALSO, for trills, ones that I found good for practicing were: NeoMAX (39) Take Me Back (Starting at 460 isolation) (41) CIA Rave (46) Max Forever (47) Delirium (47) (There's one short up+right arrow trill midway through the song) Comfort Betrays (50) Last edited by Xtreme2252; 01-5-2015 at 06:09 PM.. |
