so it has come to my attention...
That people try too hard at life. Whether to be something they are not to impress others, or dedicate themselves to something they don't enjoy for no beneficial outcome. It makes me sad, too many people have lost sight of dreams due to others opinions controlling what they want to day. Its a sad time indeed.
Just relax, do what YOU want, and dont take it to an extreme that stresses you out. Take your time, live with what you have. Enjoy it, you only live once, dont make it a bad trip.

Re: so it has come to my attention...
People do strive and succeed at life because they try and have an exterior motive driving them. Not everyone wants to settle for doing whatever they feel like. The beneficial outcome may not be eminent right away, so one may continuously struggle to find results. Hakuna Matata is a truism--it is indeed a healthy 'philosophy' to do what you may as you may, but it is also equally important to sustain long-term goals. I'm guessing you've witnessed someone undergoing a difficult time to no avail or are just irritated that people won't slow down to notice the nature around them. In some cases, it is bad to strive towards something you can't reach, but once you realize how distant the idea is, the less likely you'll take a shot at chance and possibly make it.

Re: so it has come to my attention...
This is something I find myself saying to people constantly when they stress out or get depressed over nothing. What is the point of getting down on yourself about trivial things?
You only live once. You are the only person that is going to fight your battles and make your life better. And in saying that, **** everyone elses opinion when it comes to doing things that you want to do. imo the reverse also applies. They are the ones trying too hard. They are the ones beating up on themselves over trivial things for other peoples approval. They are the ones losing sight of the dreams that they had because they are fickle enough to let other peoples opinions get in their way. So if you agree with them trying too hard to impress others or not, it's their life, not yours. Just make sure you live to your own individual set of ideals and expectations. And smile, for **** sake don't forget to smile. No-one likes a sourpuss

Re: so it has come to my attention...
Yeah, I've noticed that some popular people at our school have told me I'm awesome because I don't try too hard.

u may delete my posts, but you cannot delete MY FREEDOM
but really this thought is cool and true in its own right but very simplistic and doesn't really have a wide scope. people can get caught up in their own fears and contrived limitations, rather than recognizing their true potential. experience shows you a lot in life. this is perhaps one of those lessons most people learn at a younger age. dreams are something, but passions are something else. dreams, passions, sure those are important in life. but you can't really know your true passions etc until you come to know yourself. so everyone should look within and foster their own growth. deeper revelations come with that process i dont think its a matter of trying too hard, just a matter of not knowing what you're even trying for

Indeed, wise words with absolutely no practical use.

Sometimes people need to make sacrifices in order to have future possibilities. I reassure myself by believing that although I may not currently enjoy my life, what I do now gives me the capability to do more than I'd ever want in the future.

Re: so it has come to my attention...
Actually, life is like a warehouse of chocolate boxes.
You never know what you're going to get, but nobody's forcing you to eat chocolate you don't like. If you're not a fan, move onto another box and try again. (Then again this doesn't make for a very witty, short truism) I think it's stupid to settle for a box of chocolates you don't even like. There's nothing wrong with striking out in search of something better -- but at some point, I do think it's equally stupid to seek better chocolate for any other reason than for your own pleasure. It's not like anyone else is eating it. |

The key is to stop complaining. When life hands you lemons, shutup and eat your damn lemons.
