Average Score Per Play
I tried search function and I didn't see anything like this. I'd like to see an average score per play stat. It's kind of hard to describe, but easy to understand.
I think you need to divide your Grand Total Score by your number of Games Played. I don't know..I thought it would be something cool to know. ~Soul

Re: Average Rank Per Play
yea. it's something to do. although it would have to be qualified to 1000+ games or something like that... otherwise people will just make alts and play FFLBF 10 times for a 5 million average or whatnot.

Re: Average Rank Per Play
I support, agree, and say 1000 games played sounds like a good qualifier.
my avg score per game is about 905,276 |

Re: Average Rank Per Play
Thanks ^^
Neglect the fact I put the word "rank" in the title instead of "score".

Re: Average Score Per Play
yea this would be an easy one to do by yourself, but it would be alot lower than it probably should from booing out. so it really wouldnt serve too much of a purpose.

Re: Average Score Per Play
It would show how many people don't boo out, because they have enough skill not to mess up

Re: Average Score Per Play
Some people don't boo out cause they don't have the skill for a song...some people do it out of frustration/agitation to the way they may (are) be playing for a certain day.

Re: Average Score Per Play
Yeah, I know. I've done it a few times. I meant that people will boo out if they get too many goods or something like that, I wasn't referring to failing a song or over-mashing. I was half kidding in my post, anyways. Boo-outs would affect this statistic greatly though. Good for me though, because I like to follow through with my songs 99% of the time.

Re: Average Score Per Play
seeing how much other people boo-out the most/least and how that affects their av. score would still be quite interesting

Re: Average Score Per Play
Only problem is that lots of people such as myself boo out quite often. Although i do think its something that would be cool, lets just say i wouldn't be too high on that list lol.

Re: Average Score Per Play
Who says it's wrong for booing out not being part of the equation? Lol. It would make it more accurate, realistic, and people boo out for a reason. Some people do not boo out because they have skill and can AAA/FC songs without whoring. I think this would be very accurate, neglecting those who tend to boo out to accumulate a higher game play count.
I don't see why you people are referring to people booing out as a bad thing. This would give people a stride to avoid booing out, and a goal to obtain. People would try harder to get a higher average per score ratio, and overall skill may increase. It may not take effect right now, but maybe they should reset the counter so from the time it is implemented and onwards? Just an idea.. ^^

Re: Average Score Per Play
I see the intention of this feature, but won't it essentially punish people who use auto fail? Regardless, this feature probably wouldn't be too hard to implement, so I'd still support it, since chances are the really skilled players with a very low points per game ratio don't really care about this statistic in the first place.

Re: Average Score Per Play
This stat would be even more worthless than the GTS stat is. For one, you can just take 10 seconds with calculator and figure out your own average points per game. For two, the number of points a song is worth has absolutely nothing to do with how hard the song is (Compare EternuS to Hellbeat for example) and so having that number be high would mean absolutely nothing in terms of skill. For three, anything useful that the stat would tell you about the skill of the person playing is told more accurately by existing statistics.
I'm all for increasing the number of player-visible stats, but not solely for the sake of displaying more stats. This is like baseball commentators telling us about the batting average of a given player in home games, against left-handed pitchers, in april, when it rained the day before. It just doesn't tell you anything useful. |
