Default Should there be an "Expectant Mother's Day"?

We all know there's a Mother's Day, but what about the ones who are about to be mothers? Do they deserve their own day?

I know most expectant mothers are also celebrated during the regular Mother's Day, but the question still remains: do they deserve their own day?

What? Mother's Day isn't even about motherhood, it's about pacifism - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother's_Day

Once upon a time, I met a guy who lives in China. His English was not very good, but he was excited to talk to an American girl and I was excited to talk to him.

While I attempted to explain that we have "Virginia" and "West Virginia" with nothing called "East Virginia", he shared with me what he knew about it. Apparently, West Virginia was where the first Mother's Day was celebrated.

..........I live in Virginia and I had never heard that in my life. But sure enough, it says so on Wiki.

Really makes me wonder what they prioritize when teaching Chinese kids about America.

Edit: Holy crap I could have sworn this was Chit-Chat. It really has no place in Critical Thinking....

Editx2: To address the actual topic, why do you think they deserve their own day? They fit right in with Mother's Day, and there are plenty of other things we could make a new day for instead if we were so inclined.

We already have enough stupid pointless holidays invented by halmark. Christmass and Easter are hardly religous holidays, they're now more about greed.

We would need 2 in one year - think about it. Pregnancy lasts 9 months, but there are 12 months in a year. If their conception was up to 3 months after the 'holiday' they wouldn't be recognized anyways. Unless we put it 6 months after Mother's day to be sure. Also - what money would Hallmark make off of this? How often is a women pregnant to make a profitable card for that?

(Just a lame reason why we don't need another holiday)

This really isn't a critical thinking thread, and I would just nuke it if it weren't for jamuko's nice comment there. This thread has hope.

Because there's not really a difference between a mom and a mom-to-be.

International Mother's Day Shrine... International? Maybe that's why it's known about in China. I still find that to be pretty bizarre though, considering most Americans have no idea about it.

I should dig up some of the chat logs I had with this Chinese kid. They're really rather cute.

Also, to add to what Amanda said, if you are using that logic then why not have the following days:

Father-To-Be
Uncle-To-Be
Uncle Day
Aunt-To-Be
Aunt Day
Grandad-To-Be
Grandad Day
Granny Day
Granny-To-Be
Cousin Day
Cousin-To-Be
War Veteran-To-Be
Retirement
Foetus appreciation day (because if the mother gets appreciation then the child inside her must get a day).
Etc.

Do you see where your logic falters?
