Requesting a step artist
Hey! I don't post here often, but some of you might recognize me. I have a few songs in game. Namely "Etude On a Nimbus". I'm a classical piano composer (and part-time metal head).
I was hoping a step artist would want to step a video game medley I arranged a few years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZi1gHEEdE8 Or any other track found here: http://redblank.bandcamp.com/ (which I can e-mail to the step artist for free in good quality) I don't play the game quite as much as I used to, but I would love for my music to get out there a bit more and I was always happy to know I had a few songs on here. I'm sure there are at least a few tracks that people would thoroughly enjoy playing from my collection. Just post here or email me at mik.training@gmail.com if you're interested. As for my Tristram cover, I was given the right to use it by Blizzard back when they featured me in 2012 so that one is also an option.

Re: Requesting a step artist
is it weird that I was just thinking about stepping one of your songs yesterday? Most are really truly incredible.

Re: Requesting a step artist
Do you prefer the name MBurns or Red Blank for author credit on these songs in FFR's context? We currently have a mix of both lol

Re: Requesting a step artist
Let's go with Red Blank. Makes it easier for people to find other songs if they search on google or youtube.

Re: Requesting a step artist
Fog from the Void album is pretty neat, I'd be interested in stepping that once I'm finished with another file.

charts where you play along to the song and don't quantize/check anything are not a great thing to do and release to the world; however there are actual stepping tutorials such as http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=116627 you should read them |

I don't step arrows, I strip them naked of their dignity and rhythm
and have them tease the crowd with the illusion of what they once were. You into that? |

MBurns' music is actully Copywritten!
Do you have a bibliography of all the software that was used in the process of recording and develeoping your music by chance MBurns? I hate to draw the attention to such things as 'copyright issues' instead of the music this was just a question that has been bugging me. I in no means wish to derail this cool thread featuring mburns and various other artists. I understand that your music here is 'copyrighted' but understand that after the copywriting process there is the whole 'internet blah blah blah piracy thing' it's another issue really but this is the part I am concerned with. Piracy, software licenses, who cares all that matters here is that this thread contains some music!!

Most tracks were recorded within 5-10 takes. Etude on a Nimbus took a little over 40 takes. Tracks with effects like Dreamspace and Fog used Cubase plugins. Tristram was recorded entirely on a keyboard because it heavily uses effects, echo, etc. That's about it. It's mostly just me playing. For Fog, the part between 1:00 and 1:30 where it sounds like controlled chaos, that was actually layered recordings. I'd venture to say it's technically impossible to play. Maybe someone who's just batshit crazy could pull it off, I dunno. I tried because I had the idea in my head and I just wasn't ever able to nail it so I recorded 3 parts and layered em. That's the most editing that took place in any track.

Re: Requesting a step artist
On behalf of the community, Mburns. Ignore Travis Fletcher. He's known to cause weird drama. I say just put him on ignore for your own sanity.

Re: Requesting a step artist
I was going to make a post along the lines of "something something lots of words for nothing" and then I realized exactly why that's a bad idea.

Re: Requesting a step artist
This is what my chart of MBurns song looks like when properly synced.
You have to at least put a little bit of effort into syncing the batch guys. I have already 'syned.' I have tried to go the extra mile into showing you guys that the timing of my charts is impeccable. If you download this stuff and play it and you don't have fun then you should tweak your settings. MBurns medley is not my first chart I have done about 25 of them and they are flawless I don't know what else to say. Live long and prosper.
