Default Magic the Gathering.

I had a question about something so don't respond unless you know what you're talking about.

I've been playing with this deck where I'll have about 9 lands out mid-game w/ a coat of arms in play. I use a card called Life and Limb on my next turn which turns all forests into 1/1 saprolings as well as lands. What I want to know is can I swing that turn for oblivion or would they die from summoning sickness?

Would the lands becoming creatures be considered as coming into play?

If they're saprolings, too, then Coat of Arms will still have its effect, and all the lands will be +8/+8 (plus bonuses for any other saprolings).

They will not have summoning sickness because they were not summoned that turn.

I would even wager that you could play a land, then play Life and Limb, then attack on that same turn, because summoning sickness only affects creatures. As a parallel, think of artifacts that turn into creatures upon paying a cost. They're not affected by summoning sickness.

Cool. I was 90% sure that I could from the same reasons but I just needed that extra bit of assurance.

also, one last question.

If I have a True Believer out on the field making it so I can't be the target of spells or abilities, does his ability negate the effects of an enchantment that targets all players?

Pretty sure that it doesn't negate global targets, because there's not a "specific" target. Though, don't quote me on it :P

You're right, Valtrix. Having the word "target" in the card's description makes a HUGE difference.

The forests were already in play, they just changed card types. So they wouldn't get summoning sickness.

Also, guido and val are right about global effects.

For example, if you have a card that says "Creature's you control cannot be the target of any spells or abilities this turn" they could still play pyroclasm and deal 2 damage to everything because they aren't specifically targeting a creature.

Ahaha, Magic. Next year's gonna be my 10th year playing this game.

Also, somehow, my monoblue morph deck has not lost a match (after like 50), despite it having HUGE weaknesses people can exploit.

I play magic alot too.

As for the previous posts, If a land was put in play on the same turn as it became a 1/1 sap, it still has summoning sickness. This can cause some problems because before it becomes a creature, it can tap for mana but once it is a creature, (if it has summoning sickness) it can no longer tap for mana that turn.

As for decks, here is one I just made and is alot of fun.

"Meet my fugus family"

Sporoloth Ancient X 4
Fungus Bloom X 3
Soul warden X 4
Essence Warden X 4
Doubling season X 3
Utopia Mycon X 4
Sporesower Thallid X 4
Pallid Mycoderm X 4
Thallid Shell-Dweller X 4
Saproling Symbiosis X 4
Evolution Charm X 4
Beacon of Immortality X 2
Congregate X 2
Plain X 8
Forest X 8

You will probably need a calculator for your life count

never mind. poopy.

My favorite deck that I made had a really annoying Mist of Stagnation + Tormod's Crypt combo.
With that I just kept everyone's lands tapped.

Also made one the other day where I use Alter Reality on llawan, Cephalid Empress.
