RE: Re: RE: TWG 26: official title coming later...
So from what I get from all of this is that it was either a more or less random wolfing, involving
who a good player that isn't the best, because they would probably be gaurded. Or, it was possibly
someone holding a grudge from a previous game, maybe where Fishfish figured them out or something,
which I doubt 'cuz grudge wolfings are almost always too obvious.
Fish was obviously wolfed because one of the wolves knows that he's always helpful and active, and that he wasn't a likely guard. Kind of a dick move for a guy just coming off a one-game suspension, but whatever. Anyway, it's hard to really say anything about who the wolves are based on that. Even if you've only played in jTWG, you're likely to be aware of fish's general activity. It does seem like something that a more experienced TWG vet would suggest though--I think tps is on the right track there. Given though that this game is split roughly half and half between TWG/jTWG players though, statistically you'd expect one of the two wolves to be experienced (with TWG) anyway.
Oh whoops, game started. With all that radio business yesterday then playing games all day today I hadn't noticed. SORRY GUYS!
Roles were random this game, correct?
Of course not, he handpicked me as guardian AND wolf so I win no matter what. 8)
Veteran players really haven't been wolfed night 1 in a while.
Didn't Tass get wolfed a bunch early on there for a streak of games, just because humans stopped caring about him and the wolves were into being complete asses? Or was it that he kept getting lynched? My memory is terrible. x___x
IMO, the most obvious person to kill fish could be mead, mainly because they have met IRL and are g-bin buds.
I don't see how meeting (like, twice) IRL would make mead want to kill fish, and I don't see how him wanting to kill fish would make him least likely to do it....I dunno, your whole logic there just doesn't make sense to me.
And a word on the guardian subject: Easy way to avoid guarding wolves who might wolf themselves is to just not guard anybody who asks to be guarded (yes, even Tass, he's only asking cuz he's selfish anyway). Of course, the opposite of this strategy would be to pretend like you're a newby guardian and IM whoever you're guarding that night and be like "I'm guarding you 8) lol" but then they'd probably just wolf the guardian, so that's a dumb plan and wouldn't work at all. Thus, don't guard people who ask for guarding.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
It's like you and Afro. They probably know each other a bit more than we do, so if one is a wolf, you theoretically ditch the other, because they might know each others tendancy's. Though, since this seems too obvious of a move IMO, I'm going to view Mead as a human for now. I know that isn't very good evidence, but I'm working with the little that I have,
take what TPS/Talisman said... valid point. Take what vash said... valid point. But combine the two, and now everyone is a possible suspect. We all agree that Fish is a popular and understandable night 1 kill. I'd have gone with Hans, just to keep pissing him off, but thats just me. I know I've killed Fish early in games where I was a wolf (I think... if not, I definately considered it), for the same reasons I always considered Talisman. Actice, helpful, and always comes off human.
BUT... that does nothing to help us figure out the wolves. It is says nothing in many words. The biggest thing that popped to me was Vash's post. As I said above, valid. BUT, he puts his opinion initially on the other jtwgers AND himself... instead of ruling himself out like TPS did in his post directly following. Small thing, but I always try and group myself into the "hey I could be a wolf too" group when I am in fact a wolf, whereas I generally put myself into the "I'm above being thought of as a wolf" group when I'm not.
Also, eb's post is fairly retarded. I never get wolfed early on, nor do I get lynched often (never as a human)... I think I've been wolfed pre-night 3/4 about 2 times, and saved once. Get your facts straight when making an argument. I also never get lynched. What happened is me getting lynched as a wolf OR me getting wolfed night 3/4. BUT, what makes your post retarded is the dumbness at the end in regards to the guardian. I'm pretty much the only person who says "guard me", and I really have only done it once in the past 10 games or so.... and there was a good reason for it. No good reason for it this game.
Finally... whoever it was who commented about not-random roles? Yeah... you're dumb too. The only game I know of that EVER had non-random roles was Manhunt. And oh yeah, Chardish's 3-team Mafia game that didn't work. Besides, even if roles AREN'T random, you have no really good way of saying, "Afro would pick him and him as wolves, but him as guardian." I mean, theoretically you'd figure eb had a higher chance, as they're butt buds and i'd have a lower chance, as Afro has a hard-on for my man meat. But that is pure speculation and circumstance. ROLES ARE RANDOM TO US, EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT RANDOMLY CHOSEN.
I think some of you were busy eating lead paint during our TWG layoff.
Anyway, I'm really sad fish is gone, I talk to him more than anyone else during TWG. Also, the last time I was a wolf, I talked to him throughout the game, and he said in post-game he never suspected me, and that he bookie'd me because LD told him to. If I was a wolf this time, I would probably keep him around because he would likely defend me if I ended up under fire.
Based on the first few posts, I'm watching Iggy. He may be a jTWGer, but the first game I played with him, he proved to be much smarter then his posts suggested initially. He was also a rather good wolf in the game after that. Nothing major or anything, but just a suspicion off the top of my head.
I'd suggest that we all make a decent effort this game to talk to people online and share those convos... I mean I always suggest this but in a game where we can't really rely on an alliance or cardflipping or anything like that it takes on more importance. That said, the following is the extent of my conversations this game. I don't have the log from that mini-chat tps started a couple days ago though. There's nothing really important to see in these convos... just putting them up for the public record.
NotSoFarOff (8:40:34 PM): why did you kill fish
stressreliefball (8:40:40 PM): I didn't
stressreliefball (8:42:00 PM): why'd you kill him?
NotSoFarOff is idle at 8:50:31 PM.
NotSoFarOff is no longer idle at 8:57:06 PM.
NotSoFarOff (8:57:12 PM): I walked away.
NotSoFarOff (8:57:13 PM): oh
NotSoFarOff (8:57:26 PM): and because he's a mod.
stressreliefball (8:57:33 PM): oh ok
stressreliefball (8:59:46 PM): ten bucks says this game is an activity fest
stressreliefball (8:59:49 PM): and by is
stressreliefball (8:59:53 PM): I mean isn't
NotSoFarOff (9:01:17 PM): Paypal?
stressreliefball (9:01:27 PM): heh
NotSoFarOff (9:04:35 PM): okay
NotSoFarOff (9:04:36 PM): so
NotSoFarOff (9:04:39 PM): if Afro chose the roles
NotSoFarOff (9:04:46 PM): Than eb is a wolf.
NotSoFarOff (9:04:48 PM): er
NotSoFarOff (9:04:51 PM): Or the guardian.
stressreliefball (9:05:00 PM): I was thinking he would make eb the guardian yeah
stressreliefball (9:05:27 PM): but I also think afro's the kind of guy to want to play strictly by the rules with randomization and stuff
NotSoFarOff (9:06:25 PM): Oh and Tass would be a wolf.
stressreliefball (9:06:33 PM): haha yes.
pyro31191 (8:44:25 PM): Why wouldn't they be random?
stressreliefball (8:44:41 PM): dunno, sometimes the host will pick stuff
stressreliefball (8:44:47 PM): like for manhunt or whatever
No it was me... and I wasn't pushing it. If you read my first post it was just for clarification. Hans was talking in response to that post, as was vash.
If roles weren't random, I doubt Afro would put the obvious choices in the obvious places, so stop that conversation, it's pointless anyways, it helps us in no way possible.
Vash actually IM'd me last. Didn't say much, other than he was glad TWG was back, and was hinting at his fun experiences in jTWG. It seems as he wants to be grouped as a jTWG, perhaps to use that as a safe cover, in case he screws up, and to fly under the radar. I thought it was odd that he IM'd me anyways, especially since he never does, and he had nothing to say.
Tasselfoot - part of me wants to lynch tass just to be safe.
Tps222 - has not implicated himself yet, something to be wary of.
Talisman - seems human, but easily smart enough to pull that off as a wolf.
i have a feeling that at least one of the wolves is an experienced player, but i wouldnt vote for any of them this early in the game for fear of lynching one of our best assets.
RE: Re: RE: TWG 26: official title coming later...
FoJaR... you aren't the first. But there are many more reasons to keep me alive than to do that. Pointless. I'm only even acknowledging it at all because I believe this is your 1st TWG, and you've never had the pleasure of talking with me about TWG... and likely have not read ALL of the past TWGs (or probably not even half).
Now... in regards to your 2nd paragraph. Statistically speaking, the most likely case is 2 vets. There are 5 jTWGers and 8 "vets" remaining. So, purely statisically, 2 vets would have the highest probability, then 1 vet and 1 noob, then 2 noobs. But statistics only work in the long run. We have nothing to work with, therefore its still RANDOM and not safe to assume anything in terms of who could or could not be a wolf. Use people's posts and actions ONLY, not "statistics" that are going to lead to incorrect conclusions.
