Need help AAA'ing easy songs.

I can totally see myself like all of you playing a level 7 song over and over until I AAA it. But when I play 'Trip To The Moon' or 'Super Mario 8bit Remix' I usually get about 5 arrows into the song...

Is there a way to turn the background animations off? So many times I missed out on the bonus yoshi round FC because the background animations are so bright and I can't see the arrows.
