I won't comment on Rubix' legitimacy, but I know sometimes I'll hit one of my (worn-out) keys a little too softly or something and just get random misses in the middle of otherwise good PA.

Just played MAX Forever. I did all the trills in the first 1300 notes perfectly (except maybe a couple goods) and then randomly missed on two trill sections toward the end; I think I just get lucky...
