I'm just busting your balls, man. But, really, if your reasoning for why he should learn A is because B is based off C then as long as C doesn't vary you can substitute A and B with any language.

All four languages mentioned thus far derive from Latin. So, based on your logic they're all the easiest to learn.

Well, Spanish seems most likely to be useful in today's society of the western hemisphere. However, French is linguistically more romantic and fluent in economically flourishing eastern countries....
