Make sure to wait until the token animation pops up. If it doesn't show, then you don't actually have the token. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time before the animation shows.

If you really have trouble reading them, practice on easier songs. Try speed mods as others said (settings --> 1.25x/1.50x/1.75x) You need to let your brain develop reflexes and recognition patterns....

Hah, you might get some of your forearm muscles tired, but I doubt you could actually make them significantly bigger through FFR. You might get them more stiff and handsome looking though.

Don't train on very difficult songs yet, you'll just be wasting time. Concentrate on songs you can "read" (as in, you're not panicking and smashing the keyboard all the time).
