Since I have completely redesigned the system, I felt it necessary to create a new thread. This is a thread which contains all of FFR's best one handers. Those who have chosen this hard, arduous style of playing have stayed with it, and the results are amazing. FFR's best are honored in this thread, where they compete with one another to come out at the top! The Ranking System This list contains all of FFR's best one handers. The top 30 one handers are displayed in this thread, and the only requirement to enter the list is to have an average rank of below 5000 (or if the list is full, sup the person in 30th place). Since the original thread was meant only for three fingered players, a key has been created to show those who deviate from that style. Honorable Mention goes to confirmed one handers who are highly skilled, yet have average ranks below the threshold for entry onto the list. Code:
*Updated as of July 6th*The Tier System The one-handed Tier System is modeled after FFR's Tier System and the old one-handed TP system (see the original thread), which was in place a year before mine. The entire list comprises of 397 points. Below are the reqs for TPs on all qualifying songs. Each section focuses on one type of pattern, and the amount of points you can attain in each area will display your proficiency with that specific pattern. Note: Averages count as 1.8 goods. I ignore boos, unless the requirement states you must have a specific number of boos or less. Below is a guide on how to add Tier Points correctly. Code:
*UPDATED MONTHLY ON THE 1ST*-HOW TO ADD TIER POINTS CORRECTLY- Sometimes people tend to add Tier Points incorrectly, so here I will show you how. Say you get an FC on Red Alert. That is worth two points. But you also retroactively get the req below it. Do you have two or three points? No, you only have two. You only count the requirement you currently meet, not the current one and every one below it. So if you get an FC on Red Alert, you get two tier points from that song, not three. ------------------------------------------------- The One-Handed Tiers The reqs in the one-handed TP system are very similar to that of FFR's TP system, but with one small exception. At the higher tiers, you are required to attain at least one certain point requirement in addition to your TPs (e.g Tier Two requires you attain at least one 7 point req in addition to 210 TPs). Tier Four Requirements: Attain 150 or more points from this list. People in Tier Four: 1. Dazer (191 points) Comments - N/A 2. Card Man (170 points) Comments - Chillin in his Card House 3. SK8R43 (153 points) Comments - N/A 4. Redsky139" (150 points) Comments - N/A Tier Three Requirements: Attain 210 or more points from this list. People in Tier Three: 1. Bynary Fission (236 points) Comments - I wanna continue playing FFR. :( 2. Vantilburg (212 points) Comments - N/A Tier Two Requirements: Attain 260 or more points from this list AND attain at least one 7 point req. People in Tier OMGWTFLOLZORZ!!!!!!1111!!!11!1: N/A :( ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Skill Tokens This section is dedicated entirely to custom skill tokens. These are optional and do not affect you in any way, but can be gained for fun and bragging rights. This is similar to the Pseudo Skill Token thread, but the creator may put in as many tokens as he/she desires in addition to setting their own reqs, provided it isn't outrageous. I'll approve them to make sure they don't have wtf requirements (like FC 4 Chord Touhou with single digit boos), and once this is done, it will go here for anybody to try and get. Important: You must show some form of proof of your accomplishment in order to acquire the token. This is usually a screenshot, but can be a replay as well. Meh, I'ma post a brag in here, since you can, and because this was a bitch to FC, especially when you haven't slept in over 24 hours. This is probably the highest boo count I've ever gotten on a song I didn't mash...
 @Wineandbread: Who the hell can AAA Max Forever one handed? Even blue, who is FFR's best one hander (aside from korny), can't get the 8 point req, and certainly not the 9th. (sorry if that came off as rude, I didn't mean it that way). As for the rest, I'll look into it. ASB, yeah, I'll expand that, along with a few others. It's such a slow song though. If kilgamayan(not sure whether you're familiar with him) played that song right now i guarantee he could get at least under 20 goods on sightread, and i doubt he's played any DDR simulator in a long while.

It has chains, jumps, small stream section, lots of good stuff. |

Updated the list. -Live Free- got knocked off, but I added three new people: lenoff, SK8R43, and datenshi-requiem (I've notified them that they've been added). So much improvement from you all. Makes me warm and fuzzy inside. :]

I know my average rank has been slipping. It was under 2000 before, but not any longer. It's a little hard sometimes to keep playing regularly and make enough improvements on songs to get a better average rank. I suspect I'm reaching my limit of what I can do at my age (older than many people on here, I think) and hand-eye coordination abilities, even with the help of speed mods and the av-miss fix. Also, as more songs get added, especially harder ones, my rank tends to get pulled down simply because of that -- about the same scores with more songs = worse average. I'm still on the list though, so that's nice. I'm not doing that bad for a one-hand player. :)
As far as the tier points go, I stink. I counted up only 17 points, *far* from getting a placement in the tiers. A few requirements are still hard for me to judge, like combo all rolls/trills/etc. type additions to combo requirements. I'm not sure how to determine those, especially since I have to pay attention to just playing the songs and trying to do well on them, which is very difficult for the harder songs (i.e., most of the ones on this list, apparently). I did notice that I was close to the 1-point combo needed on a bunch of songs, but that doesn't earn me any points. Perhaps I'll pick up some more on those in the future, but I don't see myself getting a tier ranking any time soon. In any event, it's nice to see these rankings and tiers for one-hand players. I think most people end up playing two-handed, which seems to be commonly accepted as better than one-handed, so it's nice to have some comparison with only people who play the same way I do, especially since I generally can't compare to the best two-handed players in the game. Thanks for the update. Maybe I'll try for some of the tokens here when I have time, if I think I can do any of them. |

Okay, currently, my average is 4,583.6151 and I'm lowering it right now. I hate playing songs in rock to lower my rank. Even though the song Driveway [Heavy] was good, it almost made me fall asleep. I FCd it though after 5 tries. I'm taking a break now. My eyes hurt. >.<

Looking at the initial table, I definitely count here then.
Some of my stats as of this exact moment (or right before I clicked to post this anyway) are: overall rank 1338 average rank 1078 102 public AAAs 302 public FCs (not counting skill/token genre songs) 30 token tokens 63 skill tokens I play right-handed but four-fingered. Index finger, middle finger, ring finger on left, up, right on numpad respectively. Thumb on the down arrow of the regular arrows. I would have used the right regular arrow as my down but that wasn't compatible with FFR and I think now I'm actually more used to the way it is. I suppose for left-hand play, you could do the same but make the numpad Enter key be your "down" and hit that with your thumb. So yes, I'm a one-handed player. Also I am slowly but surely improving on the average rank. |

Sweet. Now that I've got a little bit of a buffer (~700 ranks) I don't feel like I have to constantly play to stay on the list. Once I get up to about 20th or so... then I'll start working on getting Tier Points.

Yes, I finally got my average rank under 4000! It's 3932 right now, but I'm still working on it. Also, I went to the gambling hall and won 3000 credits so I finally can improve my secret songs!
