View Full Version : A suggestion for RT's

In the Random Thoughts (RTs), I've learned how to bold, underline, link, etc... but it's annoying having to write all those code thingy's and can be quite messy (example (http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/profile/EAGAMES/thought/128214/)). I don't know if this has been suggested or thought of in the past but is there any way a tool bar could be implemented? Here's what I mean:

You may say, "What's the point, they're supposed to be random thoughts, nothing special." Well, this could help add life to the RT's with all the colors, different sizing, etc... making it appealing to the eye when someone visits your profile. That will make them interested in what you have to say.
You opinion please.
Ps. Maybe this could be added to the "(Username) Detail's" section of the profiles, too?

Well then, basically your saying that the forums need the same principle?

No, I'm saying that the random thoughts should have tool bar to modify text like the forums. Look at the picture.

Sorry for the double post but I'm just going to bump this since I did this past midnight and it got overlooked. Once again, sorry for the double post.

That would make things easier for the random thoughts, and it just might get people to be more creative with their random thoughts.

Destiny, the forums already come equipped with an editor like that.
Go into the User CP and Edit Options or something like that. It's in there.

Bingo! You said it way better than I did.

What I'd want even more is to be able to upload pictures into random thoughts. Even if you can upload photos, they still aren't random thoughts.
But formatting in RTs ftw. +1

I give you some support because i think it's an excellent idea,
but some people like noobs can't control that sort of power and might
make the text like super gianormous. xD
EDIT: Thumbs up on the idea, hope they can do it!

Until mods have the ability to edit/delete other people's random thoughts, I cannot possibly think this will end well.

that's like invading our space.
Not only is FFR going like "myspace", but i think they're trying to make
it a lockdown. D:

Until mods have the ability to edit/delete other people's random thoughts, I cannot possibly think this will end well.Mods could give people warning and if those that are dumb enough to not listen, they can recieve a punishment. Possible ban I assume. Besides, it's your profile and you can do w/e you want with it as long as you abide by the agreement when you register and other stuff that's logical. What could you put in your random thoughts that isn't appropiate besides a link to porn?
Also, I think "noobs" can make their font gigantic if they want. Who cares if they make their profiles looking homo. Making the font huge may look okay sometimes. If it become a problem for whatever reason, admins can always disable the bigger sizes.

I'm liking this idea a lot. It'd be great for a more creative achievement on RT's, although like devonin said, it may pose a problem with the abuse of it and right now ffr doesn't have the correct function to edit random thoughts.
But +1kudo
