I have a four day weekend in two weeks, due to Presidents Day and some teacher meeting for school, and I feel like going on another one of my random roadtrips.

In my entire lifetime my parents took us on 1 out of state roadtrip to Minneapolis, and that was just last summer. So... seeing as how they never go anywhere, I take vacations and trips into my own hands now. For the year of 2008 I plan to go to at least 10 different major cities in the country. Most of them are gonna be in the midwest but whatever.

I've already went to St Louis and Minneapolis myself this last month, then another couple smaller cities in Missouri. Next trip I take will be to Houston, Texas.

Why? Because I like traveling and I get bored here easily. And because I have a place to stay for free rofl

So the reason for this threads creation is to find out who lives in the Houston area so maybe we can put together a little meetup for when I go down there or something. So... anyone live around Houston?

I'm in Corpus Christi, depending whats going on, I may be willing to take a small road trip...

As far as beach towns go, may I suggest Corpus Christi...South Padre Island isn't that far from CC...and we got a pretty decent aquarium.

Yeah, make it FARTHER away from anyone else in Texas. Just because I'm in the same state doesn't mean I'm not still an eight hour drive away. Hell, if Rebirth stayed in Missouri I'd probably be closer to him than if he were in Houston.

Come to Santa Fe.
It's a nice town.

Lol don't come here.
Galveston is meh.
and don't bother going to Mall of the Mainland unless you plan on playing some DDR Extreme, that mall is crap. I'm not joking it's crap.
Baybrook mall is alright, no arcade though.

I don't know if I will come back to this thread though but, gl hf.

edit: Do make plans and go to planet zero, it would be fun i'm sure of it.

Umm...Kemah Boardwalk has a decent game room, but has only one twin DDR machine. Main Event in Webster (which is 30 minutes from Houston) has two twin DDR machines, about four-six pool tables, a fairly large game room, bowling lanes, and a bar for those adults.

I'll see if I can pop up some possibilities over the next couple of days.

Baybrook mall is alright, no arcade though. The Mall of the Mainland is a place were gang members show up at. Baybrook Mall used to have a game room 4+ years ago, but with no DDR machines.

Actually Baybrook mall did have a DDR.
It was 3rd mix i believe.

That was way long ago.
Rebirth, do you plan on playing DDR/ITG/PIU?
if you do don't go to Putt-Putt or Main Event, the pads are horrible there.
Mall of the mainland has a good Extreme all songs
Kemah Boardwalk also has a nice DDR extreme but no unlocked songs.

Planet Zero has a rly nice Supernova
the Galleria has a good SN also
and the crappy gangster Almeda mall has a nice SN also

and there's a Exceed machine somewhere by Almeda mall.
supposed to be rly good.

Actually, Tsuka mentioned Planet Zero being a nice arcade so we'll probably go there. As for any places out of the way of Houston, I don't know. See.. I'm going to Texas with one of my friends in his car (and thats if he wants to go, my entire trip is based on if he goes or not because my car isn't really safe right now) and I don't want to put any more miles on his car than I need to.

Maybe if we steal tsuka's car or something I don't know. But just expect the meetup to be in Houston

Rebirth, do you plan on playing DDR/ITG/PIU?

DDR/ITG. I've played PIU like 3 times in my entire life.

And Guido, according to that list you live in Dallas, so I could pick you up along the way or something if you want to go. If you can meet me somewhere around I-45

I just heard from my friend that he has to go to Louisville that weekend with his family, so I don't think I can make it =/

Only way I could make it now is if I bought a $90 tire for my car, then magically gained $200 I could spend on gas for the trip.

His car: 45 miles per gallon. 1600 mile trip = $120 in gas
My car: 28 miles per gallon. 1600 mile trip = probably $240 in gas. Plus eating expenses, money for doing crap out there. I'd need $400, and I have 200.

Nothing good happens in Houston anyway.

Anybody who argues against this statement has never been to downtown Austin.

PS- Gamepro- Take a bus. The prices are merely a fraction of gas prices.

I ****en live 14 miles away from Planet Zero. They've got Supernova, Pop n' Music, Para para (lol), Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune, F-Zero, a **** ton of fighting games including random japanese obscure melty blood fighting games, and hot azn chicks that go there every now and then. (Last I looked at their website they were getting a Beatmania IIDX 15 DJ TROOPERS machine? I haven't checked recently. Maybe they have it now.)

I_Love_You/Kiki lives like less than 20 mins away from me, my civic is out of commission atm, I drive an '99 intrigue oldsmobile as a tempfix, I've got 2 desktops, 2 laptops, wireless internet, a Pump It Up Zero machine five minutes away from me at the local movie theaters, an r21 ITG 2 machine at the nearby mall, there's a DDR Extreme machine at mountasia with unlimited games on tuesdays (And spring break I think), and rock band at my place.

that's what we'd be looking at if you came here to Houston. I'm pretty sure there's other people I don't talk to much that lurk here that live nearby me that don't even know it, so. Yeah. We could also collab on a bunch of simfiles and **** and come up with some epic sims or whatever if that's what you want to do too.

Just some food for thought.

EDIT: People who have been to Houston have no idea how awesome the scene is here if they haven't even sought it out.

Also, I'm fairly certain you could pick up Anobody and HST on the way. though I don't know how many miles that would add and plus they would have to want to go in the first place.

I could meet you at Hendrick Middle School only 262 miles (4ish hours) from Houston. That is the middle school I went to last year, I am 14 now, so I'm a freshman now in Highschool.

Go take a look on Google Maps or what... I can't drive yet btw, so anywhere we go I bike... if we go anywhere.... Kinda far for you though, I was so psyched about you being here.....

My thoughts are very unorganized.....
