Welcome to Round 1 of the 3rd Official FFR tournament. I know you have all been waiting for this, so after countless hours of work, it finally begins.

Either post the score in this thread or PM it to me. Not Both. The next person to do that will have their score deleted instead.

Attention players:

Cheating will be tolerated even less this tournament than the previous ones. If you signed up with an alternate account that has far worse scores than your main account without letting me know what your better account is, and I find out, not only will you be disqualified, but your account will be destroyed permanently. This means that you will have all of your scores completely erased and you will be permanently banned from the site from your ip. If you have signed up with an alternate account, you can avoid this by either telling me before the round is over so that I can make the necessary adjustments, or simply by not submitting for the first round.

Every screenshot posted MUST be of a score gotten AFTER the round began. Submitting a screenshot of a score that you got before the round will be grounds for disqualification. If I think you are cheating for ANY reason, I will disqualify you.

No, I will not move you down/up, no matter how much you think I misplaced you, and no matter how many times you ask or insinuate that I misplaced you. The ONLY exception to this is if you signed up with a multi with a bad levelrank compared to your main.


The 1st round will be a bit different than the rest of the rounds.... we've set up an estimate of the number of people that will participate in each round, but based on the number of people who submit in round 1, that could change. If you submit an AAA, you are guaranteed to proceed to the next round.


This round ends on Thursday, September 13th at 11:59PM EST


The eliminations per round for each division are as follows:

Expert: 32-26-20-16-12-8-6-4-3-2
Advanced: 218-140-100-60-30-16-8-4-3-2
Intermediate: 420-270-200-140-80-30-16-8-4-2
Beginner: 626-400-250-140-80-30-16-8-4-2
If you are below the dotted line and are red, you are in danger of being eliminated.

1. stop saying the songs are easy. Sprite intentionally made the 1st round really really easy. there will be a decent jump in difficulty to round 2, and each round after that will continue to get harder.

2. every single person in expert is better than me... i don't get why people would think that i should be in expert. i can even guarantee that i won't win advanced... hell, i might not place top8.

3. Sprite went off multiple factors in placing people... few static rules though... 0 tier points = almost automatic beginner... maybe 2-3 people with many many AAAs on each songs but still 0 TPs went into intermediate. 1 TP+ = guarenteed, 100%, intermediate or higher. things considered: average rank, AAAs, FCs, TPs, and top10 songs not AAAd. if still unsure, he'd look at songs AAAs and other non-AAAd scores.

Yes, it is possible that 1-2 people are wrongly placed in each division (except expert)... if someone doesn't play much FFR, it's hard to properly gauge where they should be, because they'll have low TPs, low FCs, low average rank, low AAAs... and likely get placed lower. because of this, almost nobody will be placed too high, but it's possible a small few could be placed too low. and for that, we apologize, but nothing is going to be a perfect system. thank Sprite for the HOURS he's already put in to look at 1300 people's stats and place them accordingly... and answer questions and PMs, and run this entire tournament. I'm not sure you guys realize how many hours and hours of time that takes.

3. Sprite went off multiple factors in placing people... few static rules though... 0 tier points = almost automatic beginner... maybe 2-3 people with many many AAAs on each songs but still 0 TPs went into intermediate. 1 TP+ = guarenteed, 100%, intermediate or higher. things considered: average rank, AAAs, FCs, TPs, and top10 songs not AAAd. if still unsure, he'd look at songs AAAs and other non-AAAd scores.
