ddr isn't a real sport.
nonetheless there are ddr tournaments.
There are also chess tournaments and foxy boxing tournaments. I see that DDR can be competitive, but I don't think it should be called a sport.

Cheerleading can become a sport in its higher levels of competition.
Marching band is the same way.
Heck, trap shooting is considered a sport.
With all of this, I would call DDR a sport when it is in its higher levels of competition.

some people consider starcraft to be a sport.
if you define a sport to be a competition of skill, then I definitely agree with Cenright.
then again...people consider hunting to be a sport......so I guess some people are just dumb =\

DDR can definitely be considered a sport. It'd kinda like an option for those short people who never made it onto the Basketball team, hehe, people like me ;) But yeah I consider it more of a hobby than anything. I play for fun, not entirely just for competition or showing people up.
EDIT:
some people consider starcraft to be a sport.
Now that...just annoys me. I used to play starcraft, and then one day i decide to say that i'm a girl, i get LIKE 30 people freaking out on me and trying to cyber, Afterwards, i never played again lol.

lol, yeah bnet nerds are pretty pathetic
have you ever seen a vid of a korean starcraft tournament before? it's utterly ridiculous. One that I saw, there was seriously probably 10,000 people spectating it. They showed a shot of the crowd and my jaw seriously dropped. I didn't believe my friend when he told me about the vid until I saw it for myself...and it was just insane. Koreans realllllly like their starcraft ;)

LOL Koreans are like over SOO many games now. D2, Gunbound, Final Fantasy XI, it's insane. That's why I don't play that many MMORPGS anymore, or even any online games at all.
But yeah let's get back a bit on topic, to whoever posted this thread. Try going to DDRFreak, and posting in their forums. You might get lucky lol.

i would deffinatly say DDR is a sport
there are tons of tournaments and compitions, and there are spin offs of the game (ffr, sm, dwi)
so, i think it will become a more recognizable sport :)
