I heard about Nintendo making something called the Game Boy Advance Duel Screen.its basically a gameboy with two screens.the two screens can be combined together for a large screen or you can seperate them for extra information.for exmple, one screen can be your action screen while the other can be for stats,a special camera angle, etc.

Anyway thats all I got.
What do you think.

I haven't heard of it.

Sounds kinda cool though...

yipee, something i'm sure they thought of in time for sp but decided to keep it around just to get more money which we all know they need so badly. *sigh*, this is the only thing that really annoys me about nintendo, they're ineviblility to release something new with more than 1 new feature at a time.

Sounds like another stupid Nintendo invention. I am happy with the sp thank you very much. First of all the GBA screen would be uber samll if it was cut in half and it woulda have to have specially designed games to play on for example: You have a game and you "switch" it to Half Screen. Would the gmae be squashed so it would fit the size of the new screen or would be parts of it be cut off. Sounds really stupid to me. I didn't read over htis post so it probably has 10,000 erros in it.

Yeah, this sounds pretty cool. Nintendo hasn't had a bad console before (hey screw you, VB rocked), no reason to think that this would be bad.

Well, nintendo said that the GBA and GBA SP are doing fine in the sales and that the DS wouldnt
replace them (huh?)that doesnt make much sense to me but nintendo probably knows what its
doing.
Oh, and thanks chilly,I like my av too.

Psh...It's gonna get canned. Sounds too niche appeal to sell well.

I dont think its called GBA DS, the code name for it right now is Nintendo DS. There hasn't been any word yet on whether or not it will be compatible with GBA games, Nintendo has been reluctant to let any information out on it yet. Here's an interview about it though.

wait does this mean.... that nintendo will release yet another POKEMON sequel? i shudder at the thought.... nice info though

I'm not surprised...this is just Nintendo's stratagy for business. While XBOX has powerful graphics and processing power and PS2 has a great game lineup, Nintendo keeps up with the competition with innovation. First the tiny, portable Gamecube that reads mini-disks, then a gameboy that can hook up to the Gamecube, and now a split screen gameboy to "double the fun"...it sounds promising though, something that could sell pretty well, since Nintendo almost has a monopoly of portable gaming.

You mean the PSP?I think its due soon (to lazy to find out when.)But I heard its been way
overhyped.
In any event, nintendo has a good track record with portable systems and the GBA is still doing really well so whatever nintendo is doing it will put up some really hard competition.

The DS will be a good system, no doubts here, when it comes out... the PSP I believe is scheduled for release this year... I know it's graphical capabilities are between Dreamcast and PS2 (the PSP that is) however, I have no idea how thy're gonna fit that on the screen, even though it is bigger than a GBA screen, not to mention the flat button design I hope to god they get rid of... anyhow does anyone actually know the setup of the DS other than the two screens deal... I wonder if it'll be like the WS in a the sense of two control pads that is...

PSP is going to pwn. Nintendo made this to combat the superior graphics and power of the PSP, but it sounds rushed and niche appeal...I'm predicting (and this is purely on a no-information, opinion only basis) that it'll get canned in production or end up in the bargain bin within the first six months after release, especially if Sony gets the PSP out first.

The Nintendo Dual Screen will be a different product from the GBA and GCN.. they are separating it from those two consoles. It won't be some different version of the GBA.

sega never went out of business

technically you're right. but they stopped making systems after dreamcast, and that's out of business enough for me

Sega discontinued hardware production, continued software production and has been partly purchased by Sammy. There are speculations eventually all of Sega will be purchased, but Sega will still retain its name.

The PSP is supposed to meet PS2 standards. A recent report indicates the system specs have received a juicy memory jump from 8MB to 32MB in order to compare to the PS2.

And indeed Nintendo's new product is the DS. There should be some nice innovations here such as an adventure game with one screen looking like Zelda (3/4 overhead) and when you approach enemies you can look at the other screen which would give an upclose view of the fight, like Zelda II (horizontal). So much could be done with this given time. I'm actually going to be at E3 this year so when Nintendo unveils this, you bet your ass I'll be there. I hope to see something on the PSP as well.

As far as I'm concerned, the DS offers something very innovative to portable video games.Sure, the PSP may have great graphics, but thats a predictable move.Nintendo is bringing something new to the field while the PSP is just making improvements. It'll be very interesting how the systems well the systems compete with eachother.

Me myself thinks that this Nintendo Product will fail horribly.
First thing: I hate to think about the design, will it be pocket size anymore?
Second thing: Why the hell do you need two screens anyway!
Acording to nintendo the second screen will basicly contain infomation.
Who needs that? As much as I love Nintendo, This doesn't look good!
