FROM APERSON:
You cocky ****ing ****. You're not webdesign and image genius, so get off your high horse you ****ing faggot.
Post back in here with whatever brilliant **** you want to say nancy boy.
I can murder your ass up and down in 3d design
I can murder your ass up and down in webdesign
I can murder your ass up in down in experimental and abstract design.
let me respond to this with... LOL....glutton for pain are we? okay.
aight, lets see.... a 3d image (abstract is cliche` and very ... 1999 not a professional thing these days:
you call the challenge I set the rules (thats fair):
no LESS than 200,000 polys (lots of subdivision post a screen shot of the polly count)
FULL texture
FULL volumetric lighting and particles
FULL render 800X600... file format 100% quality JPG
NO props
UV maps
List progams
time limit 3 days from today (July 17, 2005)...can't be a predone model saved on your HDD form a previous work. Can't be shown or listed on Deviant Art, Photobucket, and cant have use of pre-made bruses and vector shapes from PS, PSP, or AI (maning you cant modify them and use them either). You want a custom shape - spline it. I'll allow you to use premade prog shapes (cube, cone, cyliner)
ZOOM IN of final product on places of common problem spots, like hard corners and whats called a "mech edge" (a hard curve, but not edge in places like a car door and intake)
SUBJECT: I wont push you too hard so.... real object non-living. car, truck, headphones, simple shapes do not count, like dont model a ****ing can...high detail and textures
by showing work, I mean screen shots of the WHOLE screen (scaled down for ease of seeing) Final product to be shown at various angles, no less than 5 to show its modeled and NOT jsut an iamge of someones model that you ripped...and.... model lyou name into the image as well to further prove the authenticity. I'll also expect you to have shot of wire fram, render pre color and render post color. from same angles...you wanna own me, youd better work at it
or you can back down and change your avatar to say "I pussied out of a challenge I started" and learn to not challenge me...however, the clock is ticking... so get to it bitch
and yes, I'm cocky - you're going to get a painful hurtin boy.

No 3d. That'll be my one speculation now as I've had to remove 3dsmax for several reasons. Let's head for something in the 2d realm.
Oh and just to let you worry, here's some of my work:
http://zastari.acunett.com/The_Birth_Seovine.jpg
Instead of a bunch of convoluted bull**** let's do something simple.
A concept design based on a theme: I propose 'The death of nature'
Not so limited, and it lets you show off any range of talent you want.

No. This is kind of for two people have extensive knowledge in the design field, not for those who just dabble in PS.

so you wanna call a challenege and say that you can house me in 3d, but then back down... you then post an image and talk about how great you are, but pop a PRE done image up with out showing work or progress... thenonce again change it around. The genereal rule is the person who calles the challenege and the challenged set teh rules...so thats a no go buddy
3d was simple.. .and its me tellin gyou to put your money where your mouth is aftr you went off and said you could do 3d... either do 3d or back down
OR
create a web layout and post that..
from scratch...show work

I'm glad we now have someone setting protocol where there is none.
This is mixed media, do whatever the hell you want.
And last time I went to an art exhibit the requirement wasn't for the artists to show all the steps in the work they made, you're a ****ing retard.

July 17th, 2005, 03:25 PM
no it wasnt mixed nedia, you gave a list, I picked one, you said no.... doenst look cool on your part to call the challenege and then go with stuff you've done previously. for all I know you didnt do that...thats why I say show work...
you can install Wings 3d if you like.. I dont care what 3d prog you use...I hate 3ds and dont use it cuase its not very fluid. Then again I dont care your reasons for not wanting to do a 3d...you listed it, I said that and now you back away....hmmm.... and believe me, you "work" isnt making me worry. Photomanips arent hard to do...

That was ****ing deliberate. You don't know **** about how I can use Photoshop. I understand you don't want me in the competition, but I know how to use the software, at least enough to compete with you.
You cocky bitch, I'd love tos ee you lose, you arrogant ****er.
P.S. Never mind the ****ing competition.

I dont have an issue iof someone wants to step in here too. If they know what they are doing by all means sure thing. Whats it going to harm?...I thought this place was fun for everyone... and rememeber after you lose - I've only been doing PS for 4 months, and that I NEVER said I was better than you, yet you said that to me...and then called me arrogant...so...

Ok web layout it is.. from scratch not templates... no cieing, design image only, as I dont ahve a host server for functionality. so you've got 3 days.
modern trend, not 1999 or 2003 grunge abstract. Make something compelte profession. for a company. The company is a fake one well call it SHUTYOURHOLE. specializing in owning someone else, for a bit of fun play on circumstance.

yeah...he's part of Root42, dunno how active he is there, but..thats neither here nor there. And considering they closed their apps, hes prolly been there for a bit. Depending on HOW active he is, hed recognize the site image I have done and be able to trace the comments on it. So I guess he deserve slightly more credit than I gave initially, but it scares me none. It'll be interesting if nothing else.
Engh, its in good fun, with a bit of egotistical headbutting...the outcome has no real bearing on anything and will more than likely shuit neither one of us up... but... we've got 3 days to make a non functional site image to post.
That said.... since we are both members of Root42...Id' think it unfair to get it pre-critiqued there, but wont make a deal of it if it happens, as Root42 is far more professional and maintained than here. Im not looking to piss the heavier members off there, at least ON there. However, if APERSON is a member of Hum Hum, then we can take it there too...but...Im not divulging my name on that board.

Yep. And people stop giving me so much ****ing credit just cause I'm a regular at FFR. Webdesign is my weakest spot.

Yeah, and being that you're a member of theroot42 I definitely know what you talk about when you say typographical elitism (cough carbon4 :o )
Edit: Also, I'm not going to be putting this up anywhere for critique before-hand so don't worry about that.

I sitll wouldnt take it to hum hum, at least not THIS....those are some industry pioneers on there... I rarely speak on that board (HUM HUM) in anyeven on Root42 I'm, as you may have figured out - ejronin...anyway, I'm taking to day to figureout MY look for "SHUTYOURHOLE.COM"...and on a professional end note, sans sarcasm - I wish you luck.

Senate might win this round just because he does web design professionally.
AP will murder him everywhere else, though. His "The Birth Seovine" is eons ahead of anything I've seen senate do.

LOL...uh huh... time will tell there buddy. I've started as well... what kind of slouch wold you think I am if I didnt start today too? :P
...and...Its not a profession, I do it freelance ad only for 4 months -or- since I started heavily using Photoshop. I aslo dont like grunge or abstract, so my design will be that of a professional site. Juding may be hard since this medium has no real ONE way to do it. However, the loser WILL apologize for total under-estimation of the other. Im not above saying Im wrong when proven as such.
EDIT: and I dont do much of the 2d things, as I said Im mainly 3d art, animation and a DJ. Web design and dev is where I want to go. so this beingthe weaker of the media betwixt the two people, its going to be interesting to see the ideas behind it...and you've only seen unfinish and unpolished works...

There should be 3 rounds, IMO. Just so we can see everything you guys can do.
One round in a competition is dumb :<

thats up to APERSON. but it needs to be three days per design. With design, youmay like to today, but hate it tomorrow. Its something I do all the time. I'll like a layout now, but tomorrow be like 'this is feces to the Nth power - BAH arvert thine eyes!", i f however I like it for more than two days I consider it for actual work. Im not sure of the style APERSON goes by, but Im assuming grunge and abtract since it was a heavily played theme in most of his works. If you want to go three rounds, I suggest one item in all three areas that wwere orginally challenged upon:
*3d
*2d
*web
I'll admit I'll more than likely lose 2d, but I would bet my estate on my 3d skills. Doing so would play on each artist strenghts and weaknesses provided that we do ech piece from scratch, with, as stated 3 days time each round...and again, thats up to APERSON.

*Uses Paint*
But seriously, if you were to try to take your "skillz" to matting a print for framing, I'd own you, considering that's my job.
Oh, and I bet Aperson is going to win, since he knows of his own skill capability and can determine the skills of others from first glance.

I like paint, its better with brush textures than PS, but PS isnt for "painting" hence the program title. I'm sure you can own me in print and matte... I dont do that so its not an area I do things in. That was a cmpletely irrelevant statement, but w/e. If he can determine skills of others nad so on .. you'll want ot read my mock site for the competition...
Aperson challeneged me on three levels - web, 3d, and 2d. I'm pretty confident I got two of the three
