View Full Version : Junior Werewolf Game I- Spirits Abound- HUMAN VICTORY

I'm very sorry for the delay. Now, without further ado:

Prologue

The Grand Mansion Hotel sat overlooking the river nearby.

It was a large hotel, located in a peaceful climate, so it had gotten some attention from the local travel agencies. The travel books described it as “nice and quiet- a great place to relax, unwind, and just let yourself go. Here, you can get away from the stresses of life.”

How right they were.

On this particular day, a group of tourists was unloading their things from their bus. It was getting late, and there were no other hotels for the next several miles, so the tour guide had said that they would stop here for the rest of the day.

The thirteen tourists trudged up the front steps of the hotel, with their frenzied little tour guide man egging them on with shouts of, “Come on, people! Hurry up! We don’t have all day!”

“Why do we have to listen to him?” sighed M-A-C.

“Because he can make our trip totally miserable,” answered Afrobean. “Do you really want to have to wake up at 5:00 every morning, go to sleep to 11:00 every night, and not get any naps on the bus?”

M-A-C shuddered. “I guess not.”

The tourist group entered the hotel lobby, muttering mutinously among themselves. The tour guide commanded, “Wait here. I’ll go get us our room keys. I took the liberty of calling ahead, so our stay here is all taken care of.”

As they waited for him, JurseyRider asked, “Does anyone know what the weather’s supposed to be like tomorrow? It would really be horrible if the air conditioner on the stupid bus breaks down AGAIN in hundred-degree weather.”

“Well, look outside,” answered Wayfaerer. “It looks pretty overcast to me.”

“Weird weather for summer,” Gamepro commented. “The newspaper said to expect highs in the 80s.”

Just then, there was a huge booming sound. “What was that?” asked ddrruler.

The tour guide, now finished with registration, came back over to the group. “The lady at the desk just told me that there’s an unseasonable thunderstorm brewing. Make sure to observe all lightning safety rules.”

“What are the lightning safety rules?” asked deltro.

The tour guide walked over to an electrical outlet nearby. “You should stay a reasonable distance away from outlets,” he explained. “About three feet.” He demonstrated this distance by standing a yard away.

The pile of room keys suddenly spilled out of his front pocket. “Whoops,” he said, stepping closer to the outlet to pick them up.

What happened next was the beginning of a terrible episode in all of the tourists’ lives.

There was an almighty crash. They later discovered that it was the sound of lightning striking the hotel’s unprotected roof. Electricity suddenly arced out of the outlet and shot directly at the tour guide. It struck him with terrible force, and he fell to the ground, writhing, as the outlet continued to blast its deadly stream.

The tourists were far enough away that the electricity did not strike them. It was all too true that three feet was the only safe distance.

“Oh my God!” screamed Tsuteto. He pointed towards the row of hotel staff, by the registration desk. Electricity was shooting out of every computer, and everyone who had been standing close to the desk when the lightning struck was now caught in the deadly bind of millions of volts of power. They could smell skin and hair sizzling as the electricity took its toll on their bodies. The other outlets in the room also sent forth their deadly streams, as well as several overhead lights.

More crashes came- the sound of more lightning strikes. The horrifying spectacle of people frying like bacon in a pan continued. The group huddled together in terror on the ground, as far away from the overhead lights as they could get.

Finally, there was a mighty explosion as every light in the room blew out simultaneously, and the room was plunged into total darkness. The electric current created by the lightning bolts stopped.

Snapps stood up suddenly. “Do you guys feel something weird?” And indeed, they all did. Something new was in the room. Something malevolent. They could feel a presence- two presences, actually- circling the group. They were far from them now- near the other side of the spacious lobby- but they were there.

Suddenly, they felt the presences rushing closer and closer to them. The entire group began to yell in terror. As the things reached them, they all felt enveloped by a dark presence. There were two screams from two of the group as they felt the things enter their bodies. Then, the floor seemed to drop out from beneath the group, and they were all falling into darkness.

Snapps awoke to a throbbing headache. “Where am I?” he said, to nobody in particular.

“Here,” came the reply.

A confused expression appeared on his face. “What?” he asked.

“But now you are not here,” the other person finished. An apparition appeared in the darkness. As it came closer and closer, Snapps was able to see what it was, and he screamed in utter terror.

The rest of the group awoke as well, a short time after. The place they were in was lit by a dim light- candlelight, they realized, after they had looked around the room. Candles were placed in holders that were hung along the walls of this strange place.

“Is everybody here?” Lupin asked. He started counting. “Eleven, twelve, AAAAAAAHHHHH!” he screamed. Everyone looked at where he was pointing, and saw Snapps’ body, laid out on the floor. His face was pointed up at the ceiling, but his features were frozen in fear. It was impossible to imagine such an expression on a living face- he was clearly dead.

“Who did this?” kibbel asked in fear.

“We did,” came the answer from above. They looked up and saw a black shape hovering over them. It was formless, but clearly malevolent. “We killed him. We are the dead. We’ve been waiting in this hotel for over 50 years- almost since the time when it was built. We’ve been waiting… for life.”

This was said so menacingly that everyone shuddered in fear. “A sacrifice is demanded of you. One of you must die,” the thing finished. Then it vanished.

In the sudden silence, everyone stared at the place where the thing had been. Then everybody started talking at once. “Quiet!” yelled Chromer. “We need to get this figured out.”

“First things first,” said DDRadicted. “Can we get out of here?” A quick inspection of the room around them revealed that there was no way in or out. Just the circular wall around them, which let in no outside light.

“Fine,” DDRadicted muttered. “Now- who should be the sacrifice?” he asked nervously. Nervous eyes looked around the room at everybody. All were silent. Finally, Afrobean spoke up. “Did everyone feel those… things… back in the lobby?” he asked.

Everyone nodded assent, and he said, “All right, then. I do believe that there are several of those things in this room with us. The thing up there referred to ‘we’. This means that there are more.”

“What if they’re among us?” Gamepro asked. “That thing said he was dead- and dead spirits can possess people, right?” he finished nervously.

“Fine. Then we should see if we can offer one of the possessed people as a sacrifice, so we can get rid of the spirit inside as well,” proposed Afrobean. Everyone agreed, and the discussion began.

Day 1 begins. Note that I did not kill off someone yet or have a night phase because I wanted everybody to have a chance to play (despite that now there's a lack of evidence- I know, I know). However, you are voting for lynch. Take your best guesses and get those wolves!

Note: When one person gets 6 or more votes, they will be insta-lynched, they will die, and the day will end. When you vote for someone to be lynched, bold the name of the person you are voting for.

EDIT: Oh sorry guys, forgot about a bunch of stuff. Each day will be.... say 48 hours. That gives you guys until 6:00 P.M. on December 2nd for Day 1.

Okay, edited some stuff in the original post.

Also- for everyone- some rules I forgot to say:

1. Do not take anything in the story as evidence. Names can easily be interchanged. The story is not meant to be evidence.

2. You are not allowed to edit your posts. This prevents people from erasing incriminating information.

3. You are not allowed to show your role PMs to each other. For example, no saying, "Prove that you're human by showing me your PM". None of that.

4. Double posting is allowed in place of an edit.

Okay. 48 hour day, Day 1 ends on December 2nd (Sunday) at 6:00 P.M. 6 votes to instalynch.

Note that I did not kill off someone yet or have a night phase because I wanted everybody to have a chance to play

Guys, I died because:

1. I was not part of the game play, I helped with it.
2. It made it easier to go by and just make a kill to me so everyone can have a chance to play instead of someone complaining.

And take some time thinking about votes, talk and talk and talk some more here, that is the whole entire part of the game.

EDIT: Also read the whole thing before going on to making your post, its so you know where you stand and what is happening. It is foolish to skip the morning and nightly stories psychic25 posts.[/quote]

You do realize that the story isn't directly related...

Afrobean
December 31st, 2004, 11:56 PM
This is funny. The story means absolutely nothing. Anything you hear in the story has nothing to do with whoever said it.

Also, thanks for adding that stuff to the post, psychic.

I don't see the logic in removing the first night wolfing, though. That's ALL there is to go on. And now we have absolutely nothing. If we happen to lynch a wolf today, it'll be a fluke.

You do realize he hasn't been back to the topic since his original post, if he has he would have seen psychic25's informing post.

ALSO ONE BIG THING. YOU MAY NOT TALK WHATSOEVER WHEN YOU ARE DEAD IN THIS TOPIC. IF YOU DO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY IN NEXT JUNIOR WAREWOLF GAME. You may then be able to play in the future games after that, but this rule still applies to every game.

Hope that helps someone.

What about a goodbye post like this:
Well, looks like I'm dead. Go get them wolves, people.

Will or will not? And forgive me for being stupid if this posts seems stupid.

The story has nothing to do with the votes and stuff, so does this mean we vote people by random? And with luck we kill the warewolf.

My vote: M-A-C

Lupin_the_3rd

Well, looks like I'm dead. Go get them wolves, people

...is obviously way to informative, as it provides hints that they believe there is more than one wolf left :)

The first night is going to be awkward, with nothing to go on. I guess I'll just random vote now and change it later if anything happens.

deltro300111, you are a wolf.

psychic25
January 1st, 2005, 02:34 AM
Well, basically, I figured that since most of these people are playing for the first time, all or most of them would not know each other (or at least not know their playing style). The only evidence anybody can ever get out of the Night 1 kill EVER is usually something along the lines of "Well I know that person A always talks to person B, who was killed, so maybe person A killed his friend person B to make sure that he, as a wolf, wouldn't reveal anything on accident when they were chatting together."

Since barely anybody has preexisting knowledge of relationships (as far as I know), I doubt that a Night 1 kill would help- and it would just make one person mad.

So, yes- random votes and talking. :)

And about the goodbye post- it should contain the least amount of information possible (Snapps' recommendation should be fine, lol) but that should be the last post a dead person should make in this thread. For behavior contrary to this, they WILL be BANNED from the next jTWG.

Oh and by the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

If anyone finds any errors in it, please let me know.

Also: several things I forgot to mention (sorry guys!):

1. Each "day" in game time will last 48 hours. You all have until January 2nd at 6:00 P.M. to place your final vote. Each "night", however, will last as long as it takes to get the PMs from all the roles (the PM from the wolves deciding on the kill, the guardian's choice, and the seer's choice) as well as the time it takes me to write the story. The night phase should not last longer than a day.

2. This day will end when one person gets 7 or more votes (it's 7- over 50%- for instalynch, sorry for any confusion)

3. OR, a day will end when all votes are in.

Why I voted for you (Extended Mix)

-You are annoying.
-You post irrellevant things.
-I'm not partial to playing games for extended periods of times with people I have nothing but contempt for.
-Your posts aren't visually pleasing. (Ai tlak engrish gewd.)

I may sound stupid for voting for someone because I dislike them, but I don't have any other leads, and if I don't get one tommorrow/don't check the forum I don't want a ghost vote.

If I get a lead that someone is a werewolf, I will change my vote- so don't fret ddrruler, I'm sure someone will post something incriminating.

Day 1 is over. Sorry for the slight delay- I had to finish the voting guide.

http://home.earthlink.net/~psychic25/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/jtwgvotingguide.jpg

Please notify me of any errors.

Notice that kibbel has a vote for Wayfaerer_- he PMed me earlier this morning, before the deadline, and I told him to vote in here. However, he WILL receive a phantom vote for this, unless he can give me a good reason why he did not look in this thread and see that everyone else was voting in here.

Chapter 1

The group had just finished their vote when they felt and saw the presence in the room again. They looked up in fear.

"Who is your choice?" boomed the spirit.

"We choose Wayfaerer_," said kibbel shakily.

Wayfaerer started shaking. Before the decision was made, he had been sitting quietly. Now he started to scream. "No! No! Please! Can't it be someone else? Please, for the love of God!"

The presence boomed, "Very good."

A whirling cloud of darkness enveloped him. His screaming died out after several minutes, but those several minutes were an agony for everyone listening.

The presence hovered back up above the group's heads. "You humans amuse me. I propose a test- I will let you out of this room. I charge you to escape from this hotel- if you can. If you do manage this- a highly unlikely feat- I will let you go and return you all to the way things were before the lightning strike. I will also purge the memories of this from your minds. Sound good?"

The humans nodded collectively. JurseyRider whispered to ddrruler, "We might just have a way out of this mess." Afrobean, overhearing them, nodded assent.

A door appeared on one of the walls. The tourists looked at it for a while, not believing that they now had a chance to get out of this nightmare.

"Go," the presence said.

The tourists raced from the room and away from the presence as fast as they could. Their footsteps faded into the distance.

"Why did you do that?" a second disembodied voice asked from a corner of the room.

The presence emanated evil joy. "Prey is always so much more interesting when it is running."

It is now Night 1. I need the PMs from the seer, guardian, and wolves.

Oh- and another thing- NO POSTING AT ALL UNTIL I WRITE THE STORY FOR DAY 2. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL RECEIVE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES.

It is night. You shouldn't talk in here. Simple as that.

Votes in, let's go.

Chapter 2

The frightened group of tourists ran down the hallway, fleeing for their lives from the presence in the other room.

"Thank heavens that we're out of that mess!" exclaimed Afrobean.

"I know," said DDRadicted. "I was really scared back there. I sure hope that whatever's ahead of us will be better."

Finally, the group reached a door. Nervously, deltro turned the old-fashioned knob, and the door opened with a loud creak. The tourists stepped into the new room.

It was the kitchen.

Even though this room was also lit by candlelight, there seemed to be electricity in this room. There was a row of ovens along one wall, as well as several sinks next to a huge pile of dishes on the other side of the room. The ovens seemed to be working, because a deep rumbling could be heard from inside each one of them.

"Better stay far away from those ovens," commented Tsuteto. "That's just a deathtrap waiting to happen."

Agreed, the group tried to stay as far away as possible from the ovens, choosing instead to walk along the wall with the sinks and dishes.

Tsuteto pointed ahead. "Hey! I see a door ahead! Maybe there's something in there." He ran ahead of everybody else to go look at the door, which was faintly visible.

There was a sudden rattling and clinking sound that lasted only a split second. "What was that?" asked ddrruler. "I'm not sure," replied Gamepro, "but it sounded like it came from over there." He pointed towards the dishes. Everyone looked at the huge pile, which towered at least 4 feet over the counter.

Tsuteto was running towards the door when he suddenly slipped and fell. The resounding thud shook the entire room, and the pile of dishes started to topple. "No!" Tsuteto screamed, as he was crushed under a pile of silverware, cutlery, and china.

JurseyRider screamed. "Oh my god!"

In the silence that followed, Chromer asked, "Why did he fall?"

In response, Lupin pointed out a bottle of dishwashing soap sitting near the sink. It was tipped over, and liquid was pouring out of it.

"But I noticed that earlier!" exclaimed M-A-C. "It was upright! It didn't just tip itself over... or did it?"

"I strongly suspect that there are still spirits among us," said Afrobean. "I'm betting that those spirits made the bottle tip over and trip him. We should do another vote to try and find those spirits!"

The vote was on.

All right, guys, you have 48 hours again, until 6:00 P.M. PST on January 5th (Wednesday). 6 votes to instalynch.

Well, I guess I'll start things off. I'm going to vote for Kibbel

My reason for this is his PM to the host about who he wants to vote for. Now arn't wolves supposed to tell the host who they want to kill? I think that kibbel got confused and did this for the person he wanted to vote off to, thus proving he's a wolf.

PS: You might want to change the topic to Day 2.

It's funny we were talking about this in the chat the other day:
Gamepro17616 (10:16:19 PM): what i'd like to know is why kibbel hasn't posted yet
Afrobean16 (10:16:31 PM): he PM'd a vote
Afrobean16 (10:16:38 PM): I think he just has no idea how to play
Afrobean16 (10:16:41 PM): and he's a wolf
DeaTh2BlueBoi14 (10:16:52 PM): yes
DeaTh2BlueBoi14 (10:17:06 PM): i think kibbel is a wolf 100%
Gamepro17616 (10:17:10 PM): i know
Afrobean16 (10:17:21 PM): wolfs need to PM their pick so it'd make sense that someone who hasn't played before would PM a vote for a lynch
Gamepro17616 (10:17:44 PM): yea

Lupin_the_3rd

For now I am voting for kibbel but I have some doubts because the gaurdian and the seer also have to pm the host and that just because i'm siding with him a little doesn't mean i'm a wolf I just think we should keep an open mind on who to vote out so we don't vote out a human, because every time we vote out a human we are have less time to find out who the wolves are.

And how will we know if we voted a wolf out?

I just have to say, that was incredibly, incredibly fast. 1 and a half hours! Wow.

All right.

Chapter 3

The humans finished with their grim task of voting.

"kibbel, then?" asked Afrobean quietly. Everyone nodded.

kibbel was sitting quietly in a corner, not paying attention. "Hey, kibbel!" called Jursey. "I think I saw something in the oven right over there. Want to help me look?"

"Sure," kibbel shrugged. He walked over to the nearest oven and opened it. A poof of hot air escaped- enough to blow everyone's hair a tiny bit awry.

"Are you sure this is safe?" he asked skeptically.

"Sure!" said Gamepro.

"The thing that I saw was a little bit farther in," called Jursey from across the room. "Here, I'll show you."

The tourists all walked across the room to look into the oven. kibbel had his head and most of his body inside the oven, searching for the "thing" that Jursey had seen.

The tourists looked at each other, and everyone gave a silent nod at the dreadful thing they were about to do.

"It's the only humane way right now," whispered ddrruler softly.

"On the count of three," whispered ddradicted. "One, two, THREE!"

On three, the group as a whole shoved kibbel into the oven. He screamed as his skin started to burn.

"Quick, do something!" yelled M-A-C. "Listening to him is torture!"

deltro quickly found the oven setting and turned it to its highest setting, over 600 degrees. The cries of pain from inside stopped immediately.

Everyone shuddered. "Ewww," said Chromer. "What a disgusting thing to do."

"Why did you do that?" screamed Jursey. "I really did see something in the oven!"

Afrobean looked at her with a shocked expression. "You mean we have to open it up again to see what it is?"

Jursey nodded. "'Fraid so."

The group shuddered as Gamepro opened the oven, reached over a small pile of ashes, and found a piece of paper, which, alarmingly, had not even been seared by the overwhelming temperature.

"Read it," whispered Lupin, scared of what it might be.

"It's just a piece of paper with a symbol of some sort on it," replied Gamepro. He showed it to the group. The design was very intricate, but the overall effect seemed to be one of a circle. "Well, I think we should keep it. Who knows what it might be," he said.

Everyone nodded, and Gamepro tucked the paper into his pocket. "So now what?" asked M-A-C.

Afrobean shrugged. "I guess we'll have to keep going. Didn't Tsuteto say he saw a door somewhere over there?" He gestured to the far wall.

"I remember that," said ddrruler. "That's our only way out of here now."

And with that, the group stepped over the mess of plates (being careful not to slip), came to the door, and opened it.

It is now Night 2. I need the PMs from the wolves, seer, psychic, and guardian.

Sorry, kibbel. If this continues at the rate it's going, you'll be able to play in the next jTWG very soon. That goes for the rest of you who died, too. Wayfaerer (yours is still available) and kibbel are allowed one noninformative goodbye post.

But now...

Chapter 4

The group of tourists stepped into the hotel's game room.

The Grand Mansion Hotel's game room had all of the facilities, it seemed. There were several tables equipped with decks of cards, a craps table, a very large television, and even a couple of video game systems next to two smaller televisions. There was a bar also, with many bottles of alcohol behind the counter. There were also two billiards tables, each in perfect condition.

But the group noticed first that this room had electrical light.

Long fluorescents stretched the length of the room, illuminating the room entirely. The group had to cover their eyes at the seemingly bright lights that replaced the dim twilight of candles.

"Wow! Real light!" exclaimed ddrruler in happiness.

Many of them were ecstatic at the escape from candlelight, but M-A-C looked a bit skeptical. "Can anybody tell me WHY the kitchen connects to the game room and not the dining room or something?"

The group stopped their celebrating and looked at him, puzzlement beginning to dawn in their eyes. JurseyRider went up to the door they had just come through and opened it.

It opened on a blank stretch of wall identical to the wall around it.

"Whoa!" exclaimed Lupin, jumping back. "How bizarre!"

"I guess there's no going back," said Afrobean grimly. "We'll just have to press on ahead. Everybody, see if you can find another door out of here, and... watch your step."

Everyone looked, with no horrible accidents, but there was no door to be found. "Well, then, I guess we're staying here for a while," commented Chromer. The group started to relax. After all, they couldn't go anywhere, so there was no use wondering about what to do next.

"Let's play games," suggested DDRadicted. "That'll help keep our minds off of what's going on. It'll keep morale up, you know?"

"Good idea," agreed M-A-C. "Even though this may not be the most appropriate time, there's nothing else to do."

The group quickly spread throughout the room, checking out the different things. Several people went to each facility, and the room was soon full of the careless chatter of tourists.

Deltro and Gamepro were at one of the billiards tables. They were playing a fine game, with many successful shots. Finally, they were down to the black 8-ball.

"Eight ball, corner pocket," said Gamepro as he deftly maneuvered his cue stick into position. He took careful aim. Deltro stood at the other side of the table, eyes intent on the ball. Gamepro's cue stick nailed the center of the white ball.

It looked like a very good shot. The eight-ball shot towards the corner pocket. Just then, everybody felt a surge of intangible power coming from somewhere near the billiards table. Everybody turned to look.

The eight ball missed the pocket by several centimeters. The force Gamepro had hit it with caused the ball to go ricocheting off of the side of the table and hit the ceiling. Deltro moved aside to avoid being hit.

When the eight ball came crashing down to the floor, it did not make a harsh ceramic thud, as it should have. It instead bounced off the floor, hit the ceiling again, put a dent in one of the walls, and neatly rammed itself right into the middle of deltro's forehead. He dropped instantly.

"What the hell?" shouted Afrobean as the whole group rushed to deltro's side. They could see in an instant that he was clearly dead.

Everyone turned to Gamepro. "I didn't mean to do that," he said, ashen-faced.

"He's right," said Chromer. "It wasn't necessarily his fault. There's no way that he could have made that ball bounce up like it did."

"I suspect there are still spirits among us," decided ddrruler. "I'll bet a ghost could have made the ball do that thing it just did."

"I agree," said Afrobean. "We need to get rid of the spirits. We're voting again."

Day 3 ends at 4:30 PST on Thursday, December 6. Only 5 votes to instalynch this time, guys, so be careful.

Ok, I was really hoping we'd be done now. Sorry to any we've lynch'd that weren't wolves.

Since the pointing of fingers is going slowly, I think I will. ddrruler was really pushing for us all to vote kibbel in the chat yesterday. Even after the evidence was suggested that maybe kibbel was a human with a special job, ddrruler STILL pushed for the lynch. He even seemed to be personally offended when I tried to slow the lynching by changing my vote, even though it was too late.

I'm going to give ddrruler some time to respond to this. I'm not going to vote yet... I've discovered what hasty voting causes; the death of a possible human.

kill moogy

Falling to the ground, and flying toward the wall, writhing with pain, back wrenching; I caught the ball that had killed me, and in a final swoop, threw the 8 ball; subsequently lodging the ball in Moogy's throat as he laughed at himself and his lame postwhoring jokes, still cackling he fell to the ground, his fatass hitting with a "WHOOMPHF!!!"

Attempting to get back up, still a slight bit of life inside of me, I screamed in a triumphant- and slightly dain bramaged- manner, "w00t!"

I fell to the ground, blood pooling, and drowning whatever life I still had left out of me.

The burbling noises escaping my mouth after my traumatic death seemed to form the words, "Good luck."

Chapter 5

The group finished their grim task of voting, once again. "ddrruler, this time?" asked Lupin. Everybody nodded slowly, ashamedly, at having to participate in the dreadful act of killing for the third time.

"So how shall we do it?" asked ddrruler slowly. "I'm not too eager for an oven death like kibbel's."

"Let's do this," suggested M-A-C. "How about we hit you in the back of the head with a billiards stick?"

ddrruler shrugged, and grimaced. "Ugh. I don't relish the idea... but that seems like the cleanest and quickest way to me.

They did the deed, and left his body slumped over in one of the myriad chairs scattered about the room.

Just then, JurseyRider said, "Hey! What's that over there?" She pointed to the other billiards table, the one that had not been the scene of deltro's death.

There were several small slips of paper underneath the billiard balls. When Chromer compared them, he found that they all had the same design on them. The general effect was one of a circle with many intricate lines.

"This looks like the paper we found in the kitchen," exclaimed Afrobean. "Maybe they're all for the same purpose. We'll have to find out what they're for later." He put them in his pocket for safekeeping. "Now, anybody see a door anywhere?" Everyone shook their head.

"Well, unless you want to try that other door again, there's nothing else," said DDRadicted sarcastically.

Gamepro walked over and pulled it open. To everyone's shock, there was a room behind the door- and it wasn't the kitchen.

"What the heck is going on in this place?" asked Chromer. "Nothing about the geography here seems to make any sense!"

M-A-C shrugged. "I don't know, but this is the only place we can go. I suggest we go in."

"Sure," agreed Afrobean. "I really don't want to stay here," he said, turning reflexively to look at deltro and ddrrulers' bodies.

And with that, the group entered the door.

*****

"Why did you let the humans get hold of those things?"

"I didn't. Something is interfering with our plan."

"The newly dead?"

"I would suppose so. We'll have to make a move, and make it soon."

"I doubt it would be the dead, actually. It's more likely that we're being influenced by an outside force."

"But what could that be?"

"Whatever gave the humans those things."

"But what is it? And what are they?"

"I don't know."

"Fine. I'll warn everybody else."

"Remember, we may or may not have some of ours with the humans. We lost track of them after they picked up the first object. All we can do now is manipulate the mansion to our advantage."

"I understand."

"Good. We cannot fail now... not when there are so few humans. Playtime's almost over. But first..."

It is now Night 3. I need PMs from the special roles.

Chapter 6

The tourists stepped through the door into the darkened room. As their eyes attempted to adjust to the darkness, the entire world around them vanished with a burst of light.

"Whoa!" yelled Jursey. "What just happened?"

The group was now outside, standing in bright sunlight. They were all standing in a large field, seemingly empty, with a single path running through it. When they turned around, they saw the mansion behind them.

"You mean we're free?" exclaimed M-A-C joyfully. "We're outside the hotel! We managed to escape!"

The humans let out a loud cheer.

However, Afrobean began to have second thoughts. "Are you sure those spirit things would have let us escape so easily?" he wondered suspiciously.

"Why not? Maybe we escaped by ourselves," replied Chromer.

"Yeah. Remember those papers we found?" supplied DDRadicted. "What if those let us escape?"

Afrobean shrugged. "Possibly," he conceded. "But I'm still pretty suspicious about this."

The group walked down the path, drinking in the sweet smells and glorious sounds of a quiet country meadow.

Jursey saw a small puddle in the middle of the path. She ran ahead and stood on the other side of the puddle. Her foot was poised to kick water, and she was smiling sneakily.

Lupin backed off. "Don't get my clothes wet! I don't know when I'll be able to find another change!"

Jursey smiled. "Too bad. Buy some stuff at the next hotel gift shop." And with that, she jumped into the puddle with both feet pointed towards the rest of the group, who cringed away.

JurseyRider's smile turned to fear as she suddenly sank into the puddle, her head vanishing beneath the surface in less than five seconds.

"What?" screamed M-A-C. "How could that happen? I thought we were done with this place for good!"

"No, not yet. We're still inside," whispered Afrobean, horrified.

"But we're standing in the middle of a field!" shouted M-A-C. He gestured with his arm. "Just look at-"

His voice stopped. Indeed, they were now inside a room that looked like the pool room. The instant transition between the two landscapes was extremely startling.

"The field was some sort of illusion," sighed Chromer. "Looks like we're still stuck here."

"Not quite," smiled Afrobean, as he pointed to a map on the wall. "According to this map, it looks like the exit is one room over from us, through that door." He pointed, and indeed, there was another door there.

The group started towards the door, but Lupin held them back. "Wait, everyone. Jursey's death means that there is still at least one spirit among us. We should get rid of it (or them) before we go any farther. Who knows what surprises the spirits might give us?"

The group sighed. Time for yet another vote.

I'm sure that you didn't repost like I did, and now you random vote on day 4!? Sorry buddy, but the only thing I can figure is that you're a wolf.

I don't like the fact that everyone bandwagoned on me just because I couldn't post on here. That is seriously messed up. If I do get instalynched, I don't plan on playing the next game since everyone automatically gangs up on someone who can't even get access to a computer.

On That note I'm voting for M-A-C. For some reason, all through this game, he has been pushing for my death. He obviously has something to hide if he wants me dead throughout the whole game.

Chapter 6

The dwindling group of tourists conferred among themselves, each person wary, each person afraid of their own death.

They reached a decision. "Chromer, then?" asked Lupin. Everyone nodded.

Chromer shouted. "No! I don't want to go! Why does it have to be like this? We should all stick together if we want to survive!"

Shaking, he picked up a large pool net and backed away from the group. "I'm prepared to use force to keep myself alive! I don't want to go! I... I..."

He was cut short as he suddenly fell into the pool. They watched as Chromer disappeared under the surface of the water.

They blinked.

There was no pool anymore. There wasn't even a pool room anymore. Instead, they were standing in the large entrance hall that this whole mess had begun in. Everything was familiar to them, from the computer bank on the far wall to the small tables scattered around the room. They saw the outlet where their unfortunate tour guide had met his death, although they did not see his body. In fact, they didn't see any bodies at all.

"How did we just get here?" demanded M-A-C.

"I'm not sure," puzzled Gamepro. "But can't we get out of here right now? Can we just go through the front door?"

DDRadicted looked thrilled. "Why not?"

"I'm just worried about what happened to Jursey happening to us," replied Gamepro warily. "We might just end up walking into another illusion like before."

"I doubt it," said Afrobean. "When we were in the illusion, we connected to it from a regular room. This one might be different- it might actually be the way out. We had no evidence that the other way was the real way out, but we do have evidence that this might be an escape route."

"Yeah," agreed Lupin. "Why don't we try getting out?"

As a whole, the group walked towards the door, afraid of what might happen. They were right to be afraid. As they got closer to the door, they felt a strange feeling. It was the feeling of being pulled. This experience in this fearsome place had connected them somehow, and now they felt that something in this house was pulling at the group- or one of the group- and acting like an anchor, binding them to this house.

None of them reached the door. As they got to within a yard, the feeling became so strong that they had to strain against a tangible force. As they reached a foot, Gamepro fell on his knees in strain. And as they reached for the doorknob, they suddenly felt an overwhelming surge in the force that was pulling them.

They were all yanked back eight feet, back to where they had appeared. Everyone was dizzy.

The lights began to flicker. "What's going on now?" demanded DDRadicted.

Another flicker. "I don't have the slightest idea," replied M-A-C.

Flicker.

Flicker.

The lights began to fluctuate more wildly, from plunging them into almost total darkness to illuminating the entire room with an intense white glow.

One last flicker. In the brief period of illumination, the group saw a rope loop fall from the ceiling.

The room was plunged into darkness. Gamepro screamed.

Suddenly, the lights flickered back on, and the horrified group looked up to see Gamepro's body swinging from a rope attached to the ceiling.

"Why did that happen?" asked M-A-C. "You guys know- what was that just now? And why were we allowed to get to this room in the first place? I KNOW that that door leads out. Why did we get this chance to escape?"

"Maybe this place is breaking down," suggested Afrobean. "Think about it. There has to still be a spirit among us. This house is holding us back by holding one of us hostage. There can't be two spirits among us, because if there were, then there would be the same number of humans and spirits. The spirits would be able to act with impunity instead of sneaking around in the dark like this."

"So who's holding us back?" asked Lupin grimly.

"Let's vote again," DDRadicted sighed.

The group sat down to discuss their last vote.

All right, guys. Voting ends at 3:30 PST on Tuesday. Note that this day is the absolute last day. If the last wolf is lynched, humans win. If a human is lynched, wolves win. This is because the rules state that when there are the same number of wolves and humans, wolves win automatically.

Chapter 7

"Sorry, Lupin," sighed Afrobean. "It appears that we have to get rid of you now." He began looking around the room. "Now, how shall we do this?"

Lupin stood up and started to laugh. "Foolish, foolish mortals. Did you ever think that you would be able to triumph... over the powers of the afterlife?"

Afrobean, M-A-C, and DDRadicted stared in horror as a wave of darkness surged through the room. All light was immediately extinguished. The only sound was Lupin's laughing, which had now grown to the point where it echoed all around the room. Locating him was now impossible.

The humans' throats began to constrict. Tendrils of ectoplasm surged out of the darkness and wrapped themselves around Afrobean's, M-A-C's, and DDRadicted's necks.

The sound of Lupin's laughing was the last they remembered as they began to sink into oblivion...

But not quite.

M-A-C reached into his pocket and pulled out a small slip of paper. It felt warm in his hands, as if there was some inner energy source. He reached up with his last burst of strength...

And slapped the paper on the ectoplasm tendril.

Immediately, light burst from the paper, blasting away the ectoplasm, which melted under the harsh glare of the otherworldly illumination. M-A-C looked around and saw that the others had done the same thing. Now, there were three shining points of light in the mass of darkness, each growing steadily larger. The light extended outwards in a large sphere. The three spheres merged with each other and began to fill the room with their glow, banishing the darkness.

Lupin stopped laughing and started to shout. "What is that? This was never supposed to happen! I was supposed to destroy you all!"

The light continued to expand until the darkness was confined to a single corner of the large room. They caught glimpses of Lupin inside. He was muttering something into his cupped hands. Suddenly, he flung them open.

The edges of the spheres instantly changed color to black. Their spheres of light were no more- there was darkness around all of them, ready to implode and drain their lives away.

But that didn't happen.

The darkness suddenly imploded- in the other direction. Lupin screamed in fear as he was enveloped by a wave of total darkness, which continued to grow smaller and smaller. When it reached human size, Lupin's figure vanished from inside, and the darkness shrank to nothing.

The three remaining tourists took a while to catch their breath. "Thank god I kept those," sighed M-A-C. "Even though I had to take them from those peoples' dead bodies... they were our saviors."

Without warning, a shape materialized in the middle of the room. It was a man dressed in a black cloak which revealed no parts of his body. "Ah. You win. Well done." He gestured around him. "This hotel has taken enough lives and trapped enough spirits to last me for a while. You are not needed- so I'll let you go."

"You mean you're not going to kill us?" exclaimed DDRadicted.

"No. More nightmares will occur in this house... but they will not be yours," the figure said.

M-A-C drew something from behind his back. "There will be no more nightmares," he said fiercely. "Your time on this world is over!"

He threw his last slip of paper through the air. The paper had become rigid and stiff behind M-A-C's back, as if it knew what he intended to do with it. It sliced through the air, spinning rapidly.

When it came into contact with the figure, there was a horrendous screaming that made all three tourists cover their ears and wince. When they looked up again, the figure was gone. A crumpled cloak lay on the floor.

The ordeal over, the three of them walked out the door of the hotel. They stepped outside into the fresh air. There was a breeze blowing. The sun was shining. As the sights, sounds and smells of nature surrounded them, they could feel the memory of this nightmare slowly fade- just like a bad dream.

Final Verdict: HUMANS WIN

This was very cool. I had an awesome time hosting this.

I'll make the postgame thread now. This topic should be locked.
