And I don't know much about freezes. I've been starting making a few files with freezes in, and I don't know when the best place to use them is, or what's awkward to do when holding a freeze. Any help?

The most awkward thing to do during a freeze is to hit notes on the other finger of the hand holding the freeze, I think.

Thinking about it...you'd want to use freezes
-When a melody extends into a break in the music, or an area of low congestion
-To accent a certain prominent sound (such as a cymbal crash or a particular instrument) that the flow of the steps alone doesn't really make prominent
-To 'pseudolayer' another instrument into a constant run without having to cram in more notes. Just make one note a minifreeze every time it pops up

i'm gonna setup an irc channel and just kinda chill around if people have any questions. i'll have sort of classes in there and give people songs to practice on and tell them what to improve and how to use theories etc.
