Where are you getting the extra 50% from? Is that just a hidden attribute of the passive? It just says it puts your max HP to 1, so I'm assuming you only get the amount of ES that you had beforehand and not any extra.

EDIT: Just did some looking around; it seems CI added 50% extra ES during closed beta but has been nerfed entering open beta to not give an ES bonus. Does this still hold?

hmm im not ci yet so i dunno if they nerfed it
i dont even have 2k es at lvl 50 cause im still hoarding fast cast and mana regen
but the passive on the site says so

The passive on the site simply says it set your HP to one.

Yeah like I said, I'm pretty sure it was between closed and open beta that it was nerfed. The general consensus I've been seeing with CI is that it's too weak now.

there are viable ci builds but the issue is that the nerfs it sustained between closed and open beta made it too gear intensive to be viable as a first character build path, especially in hardcore

the other issue is that kaom's makes hp builds just way too good

that i have to agree with.

building a good base es for CI is pretty hard for a first build
im struggling to even find a decent 4L chest sigh


kripper's freezing pulse staff marauder with blood magic almost 9k life is too amazing
im probably goin to consider stacking hp and armor and using EB instead.. for more auras

Coming in 10.3:

"There are now four Energy Shield passives behind Chaos Inoculation. There are three 8% additional Energy Shield nodes and a new notable (Infused Shield), which adds a 20% multiplicative Energy Shield bonus."

Incoming influx of CI builds as it now seems much more viable.

I play (although in SC). My newest character is getting fucking stroooong.

My maul that I just bought + my armor/resistances. My fire easily caps from Warlord's Mark giving me endurance charges.

Leap Slam damage (supported by melee physical, added fire, weapon elemental, and blood magic)

Heavy Strike damage (supported by melee physical, added fire, and blood magic)

Playing a Duelist; following Kripp's new build on ExilePro since it looked like fun...and it totally is.

EDIT: Destroyed Vaal on Merciless. I didn't even need to use a portal. I was proud of myself for beating him so easily then the next area dropped an exalted orb. Good shit.
