remember when I said windows 7 was being gay? Yea, it won't let me save when I do that. Spent a good hour and a half trying to figure it out with hi19 and herogashix.

Also, were those scores post-worthy at all considering I'd never played sm before?

just delete yours, and get someone else's :P

hmm, when this happened to me, usually it wouldnt save because the stepmania folder is in program files

I dunno, no matter what save option I choose, (save, ctrl+s), it brings me to save as, I'll try saving as metrics.ini, and it'll say it's already there and ask me if I want to replace. I click yes, and it tells me access is denied. I know for a fact though that I have full administrator permissions, though.

the metrics.ini text document is probably in "read-only" mode.

right click -> properties -> uncheck "read only"

go to Themes > Languages > english.ini

scroll down until you see speedmods, then whatever you have as your speedmods put them in the list

ex.

C400=C400
C632=C632
etc

Well, I got C500 to work, hopefully the others will follow suit.

edit: welp they're not, but C500 is pretty good.
