Re: 1st Unofficial FFR Self-Improvement Tournament

Question: If you're capturing our top 100 at the start of the event, should we just not play songs in our current top 100 outside the ones for the round we're in?

I assume the reason it's week-long rounds and not just cumulative is that you want everybody to only have one week to work on improving the song, so what happens if you snapspot my ranks before round 1, and then I play a song in my 21-40 and improve it? Do you re-snapshot before round 4 and get that as the baseline score?

From the sounds of it, a snapshot of your top 100 is taken right before the tournament starts and then that is used for the entire tournament. But it seems to make more sense if the snapshot is taken before each round cause of the case you're mentioning. @WirryWoo can you confirm how this works?

                    Updated up to here.

Updates: I have successfully created a Google sheets document that pulls in all eligible participant's Top 100 Scores in using Python. I will be publishing this once the tournament begins! Currently, it takes ~10 minutes to create the Google Sheets but I can spend some more time to decrease this time.

Unfortunately, you don't have enough games played. Please read eligibility requirements and try again next time!

Yes, RadiantVibe is correct that the snapshot is taken before the tournament and is used throughout its duration. The reason why I decided against taking a new snapshot after each round is due to the possible case that someone can possible play a rank 85, improve it to 65. Then play the same song again, to improve it to 45 a week after, etc. Pretty 5Head strategy if you ask me, but I mainly want to encourage song variety per round and less opportunities to cheat by taking advantage of the gaps I might have missed in creating this tournament.

It honestly already worries me that new players I haven't heard of at all are interested in signing up haha (it's also a good thing since I encourage new players to join!). It's possible that they might be "smurfing" to take advantage of the prize pool and the cash prizes, but I will keep an active eye out for cheaters in the tournament. I would ask everyone else to report anything that I missed to me so we ca minimize cheating and maintain fairness throughout the tournament! Thanks everyone!

                              Thanks man! Appreciate it!

This is a no division tournament. Would there be a simfile choice for the second place winner of the tournament?

I checked iironiic and didn't see your credit donations. WirryWoo can't accept any credits unfortunately. Kind thanks in advance though!

Yeah just second place is fine, I definitely misunderstood the concept a bit lol

Participant list updated to here. Total of 65 players and counting!! (:

Less than a week left to sign up for the tournament!

The spreadsheet will be publicized in the second post of this thread during start of first round (will replace participant list).

Also, credit pool finally broke 1.7 million!! This means all current participants are expected to earn an average of ~25,000 credits (assuming everyone submits a score per round).

Thank you too all of the donators for being so kind to selflessly contribute to the experience of the tournament. (:
