Slowdown and savestates are used. Basically it's aim is to be the theoretically fastest way to beat the game in the category. Meaning a person could theoretically turn on the game and do exactly everything done like that on console if they were talented enough. It's interesting because it shows possibilities that almost no one would ever imagine. TAS is competitive with other TAS' like how speed runs are competitive with other speed runs. And this TAS is the mother of all of them.
