it's ezpz to get there I know but my family is literally dirt poor and I can never motivate myself to get off my ass and find work (school isn't even a worry, I've skipped the last 5 days due to apathy)

If things go as planned, yeah. Helsinki. Planning to work there then attend uni there and then basically apply for citizenship. Got some friends, working plugs, I got a good chunk of it organized, now I'm paying back my debts, about to cancel phones and shit to make the funds gathering a bit quicker, applying for visa this month, so it isn't all set in stone, but shouldn't change lol.

And I'm not coming back for AN because if I'm going to bust 1000$ on airfare I'm going to use it to see my family which I probably won't see much more anymore, lol.

Unless I could magically happen to be coming during AN and could get a layover in Toronto. Then I'd at least drop by to say hi. =)

pmuch. I really should get off my ass. It's not helping me to just sit around. The job market might be bad but I don't think customer service/fast food is THAT bad that I can't find a job if I try. I'm just being retarded.

Hey guys, I just got a surprise income, and actually I'll get that same surprise income for the next few days. Hurray!

Basically I'll be able to cover alcohol expenses for AN, had my boss reserve a 12 bottles crate for me (Unibroue taster crate, 3x Don de Dieu, 3x Raftman, 3x Fin du Monde, 3x something else I forgot lol) which I'll buy on my shift that starts in 40 minutes.

I also decided I'll bring one of the crates I have here (Okanagan Spring Craft Pack - I have no idea what it is but we can taste it all together).

Does any of you want anything in particular? I can maybe take requests (If you want Molson Dry, Coors Light or Bud Light, you can all go fuck off).

So my friend and I just looked at hotels on Expedia (because I got an email about great hotel deals), and we ended up in the mysterious section of the site where you're given the star rating, the general area, and the list of amenities for a hotel, but the prices are so cheap that you're not given the name until after you buy...

We were set on the Comfort Inn Airport North until we found this (about $65/night), went for the gamble, and ended up at the Comfort Inn Airport North for $48/night instead.

Moral of the story: gambling pays get wrecked.

if you're not entering the congress centre, or going to panels in any of the hotels, you don't even need a pass to begin with, rofl. badge checks are done almost exclusively for those (coming from a guy that worked at AN years ago and had to do badge checks all weekend rip).

if you're only just going to the meetup at the sheraton on saturday, badge is pointless unless you want to be safe and grab a saturday pass tbh just sayin

if you're really adamant about having a weekend pass, buy a single day then see if you can upgrade it into a volunteer badge at registration—volunteer badges last all weekend iirc. as long as spec-ops don't check your badge and get you to do shit, you should be in the clear pretty much if you're totally okay with doing this—I know a couple peeps that have done this when weekend passes were supposedly "sold out."

For some people, the first meetup is tough. Mine was horribly awkward compared to the second time I went. I was even made fun of after my first meetup as well as other personal-life-shit that went down that year for me...

This is the first time where I'm finally below 180 lbs and stress-free/depression-free so I'm feeling stoked to meet you all, especially those I haven't met yet.

Man my first meet up was totally accidental. I didn't even expect to see Kommisar or Gundam-Dude there. I just remember when I was adding my own packs to the OpenITG and Kommisar saw me adding the 2hu packs and knew I was Gpop :V
