Ahh well. Add me to that list anyway. The name of my character is Slad.
Try nerfing your video settings and turn off Vertical Sync. It only takes 1GB on XP to run WoW at full settings completely maxed out in every possible way...in Vista a few hundred more MB at most. Minimal settings probably only use 500MB or RAM, 750MB AT MOST with Vista. Since it's a laptop...I'm assuming it has a crappy card, or it has integrate graphics...sorry I just really really really enjoy correcting this stuff T_T.

I play on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with only 1 GB of RAM and an integrated graphics card with no problem. You just need to put your graphic settings at half of below. I usually have all of them except view distance and spell detail. (I like to see the spells ) And it runs perfectly fine on a High/Medium realm, Ghostlands. Also, I usually have youtube, tweetdeck (for twitter), and seamonkey (my e-mail client) in the background. Also I have WoW in windowed mode. So you shouldn't have to be confined to low population servers.

        Windows 7
        4 GB DDR2 800 RAM
        BFG GeForce 7600GT
        Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

And I can't run WoW at any more than lowest settings and still keep 60fps even in the most sparsely populated areas. I can get around 30 if I bump the settings to one higher than lowest

Thanks for beating me to it.

I'm on a quad core, but integrated graphics.

Need a power supply and video card!

Would you say a Pally would be a good first class? I'm making Syhto play with me.

You shouldn't talk down to people you don't know anything about, acting like you know more and then try to show them up in the forum. That's how you get absolutely no where.

Really depends on how you like to play.. since you haven't it may be best to experiment. My first toon was a priest that I still play.. not exactly the easiest class to level but I learned a lot really fast.

ps say hi to syhto in-game for me

pps tiem 4 update I have a new pair of gloves for when I hit 73 (hopefully tomorrow). I'm still a newfag in Northrend. What I get for canceling my subscription right after Lich King came out and my entire guild leveled together. Now I'm stuck pugging with groups of Death Knights.

Having a level 80 improved imp in the party hanging around is rather meaningless in terms of "oh man check out how beefy my level one is"

Are you really complaining about keeping 60fps? I wanna hurt you. I'm lucky to stay at 12 fps let alone 60. I'd keel over in amazement if I had that.

If I don't have 30 fps or greater, I can't tell anything that's going on. Even at 30 I struggle. Apparently it's got something to do with my eyesight (according to my parents, since my entire family sans me needs glasses), but I don't know exactly what the problem is called.

Hm. Are you colorblind? You may have trouble distinguishing the different objects because the colors may blend together as the graphics jump around.

I don't think it's a problem with colorblindness so much as a problem discerning motion. If I can see the individual frames that make up an animation, I have a very difficult time being able to see it as motion, which in turn leads to problems figuring out where things are going, etc.

I already have all of my graphics settings set to low, but I DID leave Vertical Sync on, so that may or may not be the problem. Would McAfee running in the background be a problem?
