According to JX - the hard batch was going to have only four judges. I think you'd want to take the judges that scrutinize heavily on chart structure while providing a legitimate stance on how the file feels and whether or not it pushes extremes; etc.

I'd really hope to see at least bmah on the judgment of that batch - bmah packs some pretty decent skill but doesn't show it often, and he's very detailed. I don't know who else is going to be selected, though.

EDIT: also, the Hard Songs batch was never officially given a date because there was a special circumstance to it even happening.

In my opinion, I think bmah, samurai7694, Dossar and myself should judge for the hard songs batch but in the end, it's up to Jimerax.

It would be cool to see dossar and samurai judge for the hard batch since they are the most experienced and they both have a good understanding of stepping/chart files.

Yeah -- it was under the same structure as the New Artist batch. It's still sitting in the OP of the Judge List forum in the Simfile Judgment subforum.

Samurai as a judge for the Hard Song Batch, ok.

I'm a bit worried about Dossar though; as far as I kept track of things, I never saw him judging anything yet and the only time he judged/reviewed was for LCP3 or FFRCP3 (I don't remember) giving everything a 0/10 iirc rofl (ya, I figured it could be trollolo)

If Alex or moches were still around, I'd suggest them too

If by "less experienced" you mean someone who hasn't stepped/judged much, then maybe (although they should have a more experienced judge to talk to for questions of how much subjectivity is appropriate). But if you mean someone who hasn't played the game much, absolutely not. I don't really need to say this, but it's essential that all hard song batch judges have a very solid grasp of how difficult patterns are to hit, and an understanding of which types of difficulty spikes will be fun and interesting (as opposed to aggravating).

One plus to Dossar is that he's played and made so many really fast files that he has a good feel for exactly how hard each pattern is at different speeds. (Of course, in the end it won't matter, since there's nothing in place to make sure that necessary changes to files get made, even though those kind of things are much much more important on difficult charts. Whoever we choose as judges, I worry that there will be a handful of released hard files with random difficulty spikes that almost everyone in the community will complain about.)
