I would recommend against getting a second IE. Get an Atma's, Last Whisper, Maw of Malmortius, or a Bloodthirster instead. I'd probably go Atma's to synergize with your mallet.

You are right all the time, but for Garen, if you are building Damage, like full on damage, 2 IE's are actually a good thing.

You won't get the Crit bonus again after the first IE, but Garen's Spin comes from his Crit, and with 2 IE's that is 50% Crit right there.

It is possible to get Garen's spin to hit for 700 per hit if you build 2 IE's 2 PD's and 2 BT's

Where are the boots? The speed you get from 2 PD's > Boots speed, at least Enhanced movement 2, not 3 or 5 though. I think not 3 or 5.

Atma's will give you nearly the same damage, armor, and nearly as much crit.

I build Merc Treads, Mallet, Atma's, IE, PD, and whatever else I need, usually among Warmog's, Mow of Malmortius, FoN, BT, and Sunfire. The build has 73% chance crit in it, and getting a second IE instead of Atma's gets it to 80%. It isn't a noticeable difference and I prefer having the armor. I understand what you mean by going for pure damage, but buying an item and not getting its passive seems like a waste of money. Atma's is cheaper and I can use the money I saved on Green elixirs which gives me 8% crit which gets me to 81%, higher than dual IE.

I don't really play this game anymore because Dental school is raping me anally. Mostly just watch streams/gf playing. Might pick it up again in the summer since I'm not working (8) )
