I looked at whose in my group, and realized the skill difference. Not gonna try. Removing myself. If there was a way to separate people based on simile skill, then id join. (Perhaps each division is in relation to points people have for submitting files to batch?)

the whole point of a stepcon is to encourage people to try stepping with rewards or special incentives

instead of having to wait 2 months for a batch, you now get a FREE chance to practice stepping files to get FREE feedback from judges

if you have a mindset like that you're never going to improve

try stuff out and learn from mistakes

or if stepping isn't part of your interest yeah i guess you could just not try at all

if u want to improve, compete with people who are better than you !

Lol, I mean im all for the competition dont get me wrong, but competing with people who are close to you in that "room" you speak of is better then such a vast difference. It's better to have a chance of 1 in 100 then 1 in 500,000

Don't second guess yourself. As Tristana said, you should step with the attitude of improving and/or trying something new. We're very interested in seeing what new steppers have to offer.

i was just trying to help you see it in a different perspective

why does it matter if you compete with famous simfile authors or new simfile authors?

regardless of whatever division you're in, bad files won't get accepted. new simfile authors can make great debuts too, stop being so pessimistic

this isn't some competition to allow new people to get ffr r1 simfile author titles, this is a competition to create fun files for the community to enjoy playing (basically try ure best cause there really is no reason to not try stepping lol)

I'm screwed too with the popular simfile authors in my group, but it's not going to make me quit. Just have to try twice as hard.

How about this we make each person be in their own group that way.no matter what you win. We'll even give you a participation badge that way you can have a little keep sake in case your your file is so trash you can't win even when you have no other competitors

i had a big old post i was writing and my phone shut off on me \o/ anyway i think you guys are to pessimistic. just try your best. and yes blackout should be cut we wanted to give you guys the creative freedom of where to cut it. anyway, i have no interwebs for a bit. but ill be on occasionally on my phone
