depending on the situation it's often a better idea to hold off boots 2 and build a 2nd or 3rd gp/5

for a support the gold investment into upgrading boots is better spent on buying a bunch of wards anyway

you'll see a lot of the better support players ending 45 min+ games with boots 1 (or at least this was the case a few months ago maybe it's changed now)

boots of mobility is such a waste. you only get movement speed 5 when you're out of combat for 5 seconds....... so being hit in a fight then trying to escape won't do you much good because you're still stuck at movement speed 2. also people get sorc shoes for the magic penetration

I like to build Philo's into Reverie and Heart of Gold into Raduin's (instead of frozen heart) for teamfight carnage. And I usually don't build sorc shoes on Sona. I usually build the +5 speed boots on supports for better mobility and escaping. I could see going for Merc treads. Why sorc shoes?

Usually I start with DRing for harass. Boots>ward>Aegis It just gives such a boost in team fights and gives me some pretty good stats too. Bought sorc boots because I just had 700g and was needed back at a team fight after spawning. Turned out to be the last item I bought anyways as we pushed for the win after. If I decided to pick them up earlier in the game I prob would have gotten CDR.



WW insta lock. Was afk first few min. Panth took top, Fiora jungle (worked pretty well).
Cait and Zil are harassing us like dicks bottom after WW comes back. I say to the Fiora whos sitting in the room with me "This WW is a puss" just then he decided to be a pro and rape both Zil and Cait. It was GG after that as i'd just be his ult, my ult, Fiora for the cleanup.

lol i build Garen really different, generally as an offtank. btw sword of the occult is a really situational item and if you build it everygame you could be wasting an item slot

start with boots 3 pots and get my Q first for movement and silence, farm until around 1.9k gold then get giant's belt + heart of gold
then i farm some more, get merc treads if the enemy team has 2 aps or a lot of CC, otherwise only ninja tabi
then i go for atma's, turn the giant's belt into either frozen mallet if i need people to catch or a sunfire cape

ie core build is generally Merc. Treads/Ninja Tabi > Heart of Gold > Giant's Belt > and Atma's then turn heart of gold into randuin's after you figure out what item you want giant's belt to be (whether its frozen mallet, sunfire cape, or possibly warmog's)

i'd skip sunfire cape in almost every situation only because it really defeats the purpose of the atma's (randuin's + sunfire cape is only 800? hp, so you'd only get around 16ad). only use it if you're the one needing to initiate or in other cases you need more hp and armor earlier in the game.

btw i don't build boots of swiftness because to have +3 movement is generally too situational and almost 99% of the time totally useless if the other team is going to CC you to death. Merc. Treads can give better movement with the tenacity, so they can generally overrule boots of swiftness

i should try this. i usually go for swift boots a majority of the time.

lol Garen hits people like a truck early game, people always underestimate his damage

Played a game earlier as MF ranked and won due to an awesome riven carry, jesus christ i didn't realize how hard mf is to use. went against a malphite/ashe combo, meaning constant slows from malphite and ashe

he's one of those champions that can win the game before it even gets to late game like Shaco or twitch
