It's fine if that's how you play, but you cant assume it's how others play. I like to 100% my games. And this game is asking me to own 2 other games to 100% it.

Well that entirely depends on your definition of pokedex completion

in order to

challenge arceus

it's just like manaphy in DPPt. You needed to own pokemon ranger to get it, it showed up in the pokedex, but it wasn't required at ALL to complete the pokedex or get the rewards for doing so. It was entirely optional. Don't buy the games just to get the save data

although if you're a big pokemon fan you'll probably like SS anyway so maybe buy that one, but not DP remakes

for a while I considered them strict sidegrades from diamond and pearl; if you have the originals playing them will give you an identical experience, or close enough

but there are a handful of upgrades. The underground is much more involved and interesting, even for local play, and the game is faster, obviously. No more slow hp bars.

That's it in terms of upgrades, the rest of it is exactly the same or straight up worse, like I can't describe how bad the movement in the game is but it's really cringe and even movement that was simple in the originals can sometimes just get you stuck on corners of buildings and stuff

I got 100% just now. I really recommend you do catch every pokemon. The reward is worth it imo.
