Finally a score I'm not jelly on, lmfao. Nice low miss count, and the PA isn't so bad, but you could do better. :3
It's comforting to know that no matter how good at this I actually get I'm never gonna get anywhere above d4.
It's not comforting to me knowing I'll be stuck in low-d4 while you mid/upper D4'ers crush me in every tourney. (We'd like to think I'm at the same skill level as you and Zak, but I think you guys are overestimating my skill. Sorry for the rant, I'm just having a bad day.

Step 1:
Play A little more Stepmania (3-4 times a week)

Step 2:
Over two days work your way up from Judge 4 to Judge 7 and start trying for FCs

Step 3:
Notice insane skillboost (For me at least) and make mistakes out of sheer AWE that you are actually hitting those notes because all of a sudden FFR is easy.

^- First time I tried the song tonight, probably first time I've played it in a week.

I keep looking over at my PA and getting nervous because it used to be rare when I was doing so good on a song... now its like every song and my brain is telling my fingers WTF ARE YOU DOING? YOU CANT DO THAT!

SM doesn't work for everyone. It doesn't for me because instead it makes me worse at FFR since adjusting to the window size and time frame becomes hard for me.

people know that ffr/sm have different timings
it's just that ffr has a lack of insanely dumb files that sm has to offer.

sm has a crazy selection of files and a crazy selection of difficulties.
a lot of the "FGO" songs on FFR are piss easy compared to a LOT of the songs on stepmania packs.

HSMP1-11 is probably even unimaginable for many ffr players because the "For Guru's Only" songs are child's play compared to a lot of the sm songs

my opinion: sm should be used for speed, stamina, and reading ability training. when you're all nice and trained, you can wreck FFR no problem (after adjusting to the right timing window)

Why didn't anyone tell you that SM makes you super good in FFR

A good example of a person who's good at FFR because of SM is Dossar or me even

Like what Anaru said, SM has a lot of files, some of them being harder than the hardest songs in the game. If you play hard files for a long time in SM, you'll eventually feel that the hard files in FFR are actually... easy.
