Oh boy this will be very fun, my first official tournament whoop whoop! I may fall between D5-D6 hopefully D5 but if i'm D6 i can accept losing in the first round, it'll still be a fun experience Good luck to all!

The point is, it is a lot easier for someone to regain lost skill than it is gain additional unaquired skill, thus if we were to have placements accounting for skill drops, those people would pseudo-skillboost back to their old skill faster than those trying to legitamately skill boost, which wouldn't be fair.

-people talking about how there should be a D7
-discussions about skilldrops and that they should be placed lower cuz of it

You don't get placed right away, you will have to wait for someone to place you, and remember that what you see at first is not final.

What it's saying is there's no way of knowing for sure and it's too much of a risk factor. I've seen people who haven't played in a year, 2 years come back and wreck the game more than they used to. Hell I hardly play anymore and I played for the hell of it the other day and pulled out 8/2/5/6 on Einstein-Rosen Bridge. I was never capable of something like that before. I can't take the chance, I have to go off what people have been capable of. Plus how do I know someone hasn't been playing SM the whole time they haven't played FFR. There's just a lot of factors to it.

I signed up, but it didn't tell me what division I'd be in. Where can I find that out?

The divisions aren't automatic. I have to go through the stats of everyone that signs up and place you. I will be doing this all throughout the signup process but no placement is going to be final till about a day or two before the start. Just keep an eye on this thread and you'll know when they're finalized. I might make a front page post once they're all done as well.
